Okay, so basically I began with WoWModelEditing yesterday. I haven't done any recoloring/reskins in several years (Morrowind modder) so I'm currently learning how to handle these kinds of things for wow. I've succesfully redone some 'simple' items and decided to start working on a Dark Iron/Red demonic recoloring of the s3; however as I suspected (tested it halfways, before major details) the recolor of the shoulders makes no difference due to the heavy yellow glow. Currently I got 2 solutions;
1. Change the glow. What program do one need? Hard to learn? I can use 3dsmax and Photoshop pretty well, if anything else I'd prefer a freeware/shareware.
2. Remove the glow. Is this even possible, or will WoW go berserk when starting? If it is, how should I accomplish the removal of a file?
Due to my longtime lurking inactivity I can not post links, but if you could copypaste this into your browser you will see how it should look and how it looks; both screenshot and textures included.

Thanks in advance. (PS. Is it possibly to extract - add file from the, ie. Bloodfang glow and add it as the Vengeful Gladiators Shoulders one? Just popped up in my head, that could work lookwise, not as good ofc but maybe best replacer available).
+rep will be given and when done the recoloring will ofcourse be uploaded.
