[Question] Can one alter itemglow? (specific question: color swap pala s3 shoulders)

    Okay, so basically I began with WoWModelEditing yesterday. I haven't done any recoloring/reskins in several years (Morrowind modder) so I'm currently learning how to handle these kinds of things for wow. I've succesfully redone some 'simple' items and decided to start working on a Dark Iron/Red demonic recoloring of the s3; however as I suspected (tested it halfways, before major details) the recolor of the shoulders makes no difference due to the heavy yellow glow. Currently I got 2 solutions;
    1. Change the glow. What program do one need? Hard to learn? I can use 3dsmax and Photoshop pretty well, if anything else I'd prefer a freeware/shareware.
    2. Remove the glow. Is this even possible, or will WoW go berserk when starting? If it is, how should I accomplish the removal of a file?

Due to my longtime lurking inactivity I can not post links, but if you could copypaste this into your browser you will see how it should look and how it looks; both screenshot and textures included.

Thanks in advance. (PS. Is it possibly to extract - add file from the, ie. Bloodfang glow and add it as the Vengeful Gladiators Shoulders one? Just popped up in my head, that could work lookwise, not as good ofc but maybe best replacer available).

+rep will be given and when done the recoloring will ofcourse be uploaded.

There IS a place to edit the particles on the shoulders, But I personally don't know how as I haven't tried doing it yet. So just to let you know it IS possible to change them up.

    LSHOULDER_PLATE_RAIDPALADIN_F_01GLOW.blp
    RSHOULDER_PLATE_RAIDPALADIN_F_01GLOW.blp

These ARE the Glowtextures, however a simple recoloring does not do the job. Anyone knows how to fix it? I'd greatly appreciate it, dire need.

You might have to alter the LShoulder_Plate_RaidPaladin_F_01.m2 file to change the glow.. in the Model viewer it shows the glow on the .m2/.blp So you should check that out.

Ya there is a .blp for the glow. Just open photoshop and change the color like any other piece of armor or weapon.

Oh sorry didn't see that, I don't really know what the problem is though. It works fine for me.

Try to use paint; it can do wonders. Maybe if you paint the ENTIRE glow texture red it might work

    Edit:
Guess you have to edit this file aswell (might try this first)
    Item\ObjectComponents\HEAD\SHOULDER_PLATE_RAIDPALADIN_F_01BEAM.BLP

Figured I might give it a shot, unfortunately this time the simplest wasn't the best solution :banghead: The result was that the non-glowing particles of the top-layer (the strings between the "lights") turned green and red.

Any more solutions? I'm willing to try anything.

Thanks for the rep, I'll take a look at it in a minute. My dad just got home and about 4-5 people just contacted me asking for help with model editing. Sorry for the delay, hopefully I can get it working for you. What color do you want it? Hopefully I will succeed.
