    [WIP][World Build] Echo Isles Revised

    Hi guys,

Many people were quite in love with the old Version 0.5 Echo Isles as we call it since it was just an experiment. So we decided since our expansion pack will be based upon future events after the Cataclysm, we needed the zones to fit a Cataclysm perspective. So I quickly got to work on a new Echo Isles and my team fell in love with this one even more. We aimed for a feel of an inhabited isles that has a real jungle feel to it with treehouses and the blizzard idea of arches with flaming skulls which really represent the Darkspears. So I put together recolorment of the Zangarmarsh mushroom houses and deleted the mushroom out of mushroom houses. So we were just left with a house that had a support that it could now look like it is held up against something. So I started placing several of these all over the isles. Sometimes i put 2 on one tree, sometimes from tree to tree, and sometimes just stand alone houses or on the spikes coming up on the side of the bridges as seen near the starting area. This created a nice feel of jungle troll inhabitants. Then we split the areas into 5 Areas on the main isles. The training grounds, the 2 fenced off areas with spiked walls and a flaming arch, the Camp where Vol'Jin lives, and the Wilderness. Improvements made from the Cataclysm version are in short, more of a feel like the Trolls have the Isles fully under control after waiting for peace for so long and more jungle-like as the isles were intended to be instead of a sandy area as seen in Cataclysm as the Isles were described as a resembalence to Stranglethorn Vale as the Trolls planted many trees and plants from seeds they carried to the Isles. So with that we came up with a WIP of a well developed Echo Isles.

I like the idea of those walls surrounding the island. This edit is really nicely done and things are not left half-assed like in some other edits we see.

LOLOLOLOL. You do realize this is an extension of the isles outside the shores of Durotar in WoTLK, right, Xel? xD
    Anyway, looks good, nonetheless :P

    Thanks

It looks like it shouldn't qualify as a world build but there was a lot more terrain work put into this than most people can see from the finished product. The terrain from Wotlk didn't fit the edges of the cata wmo of the Echo isle walls and bridges. So the whole isle had to be flattened, raised, spread out further to fit, and then reterrained with the bumps in the grass patches and the slopes an what not. So as this looks only like an extension its really much more than most people can tell unless I tell them. Although as I said, I completely understand why you would say that as I have gotten that response before.

I recently finished the 3 smaller isles off the shores of the main one. Hoping to get the other 3 done in the next few days. Once they are done, I will have a video of the full isles as well as pictures and a storyline as this is for a server creating an expansion pack, what good is it if you can't understand why the objects are where they are without the story? Anyway, that will be all shortly. Also working on some goblin zones as well as Pyrewood Village.
