    Good old hector's way?

Yeah I know this is stupid to ask, esp. as this forum is flooded with modelchanging guides, but anyhow, a few months ago I modelchanged a few characters successfully by following a guide by a (famous) rogue named Hector at the Khadgar's Rage forums which inconveniently does not exist anymore..

Anyhow, most of the guide was about going into CHARACTER and character in common.mpq and renaming files involving making CHARACTER and character folders on my desktop etc and then making a random file (notepad or something) file and making it a MPQ patch4-5 file etc. Anyhow I tried again with the new model edit file (modelchange stopped working a while ago) which worked fine, but I didn't get that modelchanging way right and ended up what seemed like 2 notepad files (named patch4.mpq etc) which were archives for m2 and other files, but didn't get the "unable to open" icon and didn't work when I started wow with the model edit file. (when I open the files I get notepad files with alot of what I believe to be scripts/lua languiage/something). If anyone have, by any chance, that guide (don't know another name than hector (the rogue) but I doubt he's the original maker) I would very much appreciate it. Thanks and sorry if this has been asked before, i dd google it though.

Reason I don't use the dummy guide is that it asks me to find a BLP file, and races have alot of facial etc files so I don't get it working. If anyone have a draenei female > undead male file that will suffice very good.

EDIT: I suddenly managed to do it, creating 2 successful mpq files (patch 4-5). However, the model edit file (latest) from this forum didn't work on it (I got a crash when loading character). No way to use patch.mpq's anymore?

Ok 3 different versions of the file edit.exe didn't work (1 didn't start, 2 latest still gave me error). The modelchange.exe file from khadgar's rage worked a few months back. Btw, patch-x files still work aye?
