[Important] Warden: Model Editors Beware... You Are In for A Scare

The new Warden was just released today. Noone is quiet sure what it does, but just the same as bots and hacking, probably shouldnt model edit for a few days, till we get some more reports in. You have been given a fair warning. You get banned, its your fault. Have a nice day!

As far as I know everyone is safe, its just to stop us attaching a debugger while ingame.

From what I have read so far, warden hasnt really done much yet to model editors, but we need to be safe, so just warning people

    The suspense is killing me!

Most tell me I shouldn't worry about it, but I simply can't shake that uneasy feeling from not knowing for sure.

Doubt they care about race swaps even if they could detect them. World builds however....

Well I am not 100% on the rules but as long as the model edit does not give you an ingame advantage then I don't think Blizzard will care.

    For example:

If you change a netherwing egg to ragnaros so you can see and find it easily then you are most likely going to get banned/suspended.

As I stated before I am not 100% on the rules so do not just go by what I have said. I suggest if you are keeping model edits, then make sure it is only a simple race swap or reskin of armour etc...

I've been race changing a bit and nothing seems to be different, no ban or suspension yet :S

Well i dont think they care about race and item models.
But such things as editing the world, im sure they ban for that.
Because if you for example makes a cage which goes to GM Island.
How would they stop that? The answer is banning

What is this "warden" you're talking of?

---------- Post added at 10:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 PM ----------

A quick 5 minute dig on what it was and this is bad!!!
Does anyone know the major/minor updates with this warden and are we safe on private servers? :c

If Blizzard wanted to stop model editing, they wouldn't have to ban all of their customers that do it or update their warden program. They can easily make it so that WoW no longer loads custom MPQ files, which is what they are doing in the cataclym beta, and *possibly* when cataclysm is released, although nobody is sure of that.

So long as you don't use it to exploit, like changing saronite veins to, say, ragnaros, then they will not ban you.

Stop scaring people. Simple Model Edits are safe.
