Hey ScDK I saw you had a thread up a like a year ago that had custom blood elf eyecolors, and along with it there was a patch that changed the female bloodelf sounds to a nymph, would you happen to still have that sound patch/does it still work?

Ty its working now ^^'
blizzard had changed the sounds and textures for the faces at different times thorough the year.
The sound patch ceased to work after 2.3.0 i think, i'm not sure anymore. But everytime my female bloodelf fell down a ledge or got crit'ed, the game crashed.
But i got it redone for 3.#.#, just need to find a good /laugh replacement sound before i upload it. Additional taunts (like OOM, /charge, etc) won't be touched as i lack sounds for those. I might try to replace the crying one if i find something suitable.
hey ScDK quick question. im not sure if you have answered this already but you said you used Troll Paxton's High-Res Tool for this. What im wondering is if you imported the original file into it first and then export it or did you edit it and then import and export.
I ask because it seems it would be a huge hassle to try and edit so many faces on the model but i guess at the same time you have more control since there are more. In any case nice edit. Also doesnt 3DS Max have the option to fine tune the model anyway to make it more "smooth."
Oh, that goes like this:
1. Setup TP's Hi-Res Tool for the model
2. Run the whole thing over it. This removes the non-working views and increases the detail on the selected pieces. Also creates a OBJ file.
3. Import the OBJ file into 3ds Max.
4. Fiddle with the vertexes until you're happy or fed-up.
5. Export the OBJ
6. Use TP's Hi-Res tool to reimport the OBJ data into the model.
7. Pack it up into a MPQ and test.
Depends on what options you mean.
Things like "MeshSmooth" cannot be used as it modifies the vertex count and renders the OBJ useless. "Relax" however, works fine when you select the proper areas (orc female's upper head, for example) and it smooths it out nicely, but as it pulls the vertexes together, it makes that model area a bit smaller. Then you just slap a new EditMesh modifier over it and resume with the model edit.
Relax can also be used to turn massive melon breasts into tiny little peaches...just a little info for those who got models they like but dislike the chest-size.

Thank you ScDK for this awesome skin mod, I think the BE female looks so much better with this.
I have no experience in model changing so I was wondering how I I go about getting this model to work for myself. I downloaded the patch-y.MPQ file but I have no idea what to do with it or where to put it, any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the v2.2 update. The weapon and hair edit are really well done. This is the way a belf female should be!
+2 rep!
ScDK, can you make model that chances only the hair - longer?
Not any body chances :P
I'm new to this scene, and how do I get this to work? whenever I try to start WoW I get an error and WoW closes down.
Alright I'll do my best to explain how this is done.
1. Download the latest MEFix.exe (This launches WoW and lets your custom model edits get by blizz, assuming you aren't doing something like the easy-stratholme run or the campire to dark portal stairs trick)
2. Download the patch for the model edit you want. It should be in the format of "patch-_.MPQ" with MPQ capitalized, and the _ can be any number 4-9 or any letter of the alphabet, so long as it's capitalized (I'm about 50% sure but capitalize it anyway).
3. Go into your WoW directory, something similar to C>Program Files>World of Warcraft. In this folder you'll find various wow patch downloaders, as well as Launcher.exe and Wow.exe. Even if for some reason you don't, this is the folder where you should put the MEFix.exe (I think it's called WoWMEFix.exe or something similar). I renamed mine to winamp.exe, although I doubt it would do much good against detection.
4. Go into your Data folder now (inside your main WoW folder), and you'll see a bunch of patches that will look similar in name format to the one you've downloaded. Now just place your new patch-_.MPQ file in here, then back out one folder to your main WoW folder, and run the MEFix.exe. It should bring up a DOS window saying to press F8 at the login screen, once wow loads up press F8 (and I personally like to minimize wow for a moment, and check to make sure the DOS window has closed, then tab back into wow and login as normal. Sometimes when I hit F8 I find it doesn't work the first time, and if it doesn't then you'll get an error and wow will crash.
Best of luck, if you need me to clarify anything let me know, sorry if it's a bunch of words to read at once :P
