Ok guys first off, this is not a FAQ or a support post, but this should help A LOT of people, and will keep me from pulling out my hair and crying. Ok here are some things you should make sure you are doing before posting in this forum:
1. Is your question going into the question section? If not, please do, or i will stab you, and im not joking
2. If you want to know how to do something, or have a request, have you tried it yourself, and checked our guides list sticky? Their are guides in there for just about anything, and they are very easy to follow.
3. Do you have the most up to date Mywarcraftstudio (currently its .10) and the most up to date modelchangefix.exe. You NEED to make sure you have these. For the MWS, you will have TONS of issues opening .mpqs, most of the time you simply cant. As for the modelchangefix, you cant even use your edits unless you use this, and there is a sticky with the most up to date one.
4. IMPORTANT: Cant find model.mpq? Model.mpq, speech.mpq, and basically all others were merged into common.mpq, which actually makes it A LOT easier to edit. Just search around a little bit, and youll find it.
5. Did you properly name your .mpq? You need to make sure that your .mpqs are named correctly, which means they should be named patch-#.mpq or speech2.mpq (# replace with an actual number, normally higher than 3, as blizzard will sometimes use up to patch-3).
6. Has my guide been posted before? Please, before posting any guide, refer to marlo's guide sticky. Yes we already have 7, yes 7, hex/cache editing guides, stop it, because i will now request them to be immediatly removed and you to be temp banned or at least get some warning points for not reading the stickies, since this is a sticky now.
Those 5 things or so, (ill probably realize more and add them), will really help you out with your problems, and will save me from a massive headache
