Yeah I can't decide whether to make the stripes transparent or not. Any thoughts?

Don't do stripes, try a new fur design... something that you would see in the emerald dream. Think swirls.

Swirls has my vote! Yet... because of how the blp file is contructed.. it'll be hard to get nicelooking and even fitting swirls into the skin
