    [Custom Model] Shotgun



    For starters, I'd like to complain that all I've seen for the past week have been
    "reskins" and "model swaps" and I began to grow irritated that this is still called the model "editing" section... I had to swap all my files & stuff over to my new computer, I couldn't do any edits for a while :banghead: but as you can see I'm back up and running.

    Behold! I forked up a small (but extremely schweet) shotgun model. Completely custom, nothing that already exists in the game...duh. And I even added a skin (which can be edited by you guys if you'd like to extract it and do all that work). I popped this out over night. Took a good hour and a half to get the scale, position, slight tilt, and all those little things. Then another 30 mins just looking for textures to make it look decent. Thank god for Google image search. It can be used for more then just porn afterall!

    Recorded a short video of the gun in action (no animation, sorry not that advanced yet). Same sounds from before, but this gun looks just a tad more "realistic" if you will. Not so cartooney.

    DOWNLOAD: patch-4.MPQ
    By default, this replaces the starting gun for the Dwarf race. To switch it out, simply relocate it in the MPQ file to whatever model your current gun uses.

    I DO NOT COVER INSTALLATION! If you don't know how to install and use this MPQ, then you're wasting your time looking here. Go learn how to install before downloading! No PM'ing me about "how to install" ~ thank you

    I just extracted the lil gun that already exsisted (the dwarf starting one).
    I used Glitchy's MES to convert it to 3ds, then when I imported it into 3ds max, I knew about how big to make it and where to place it. From there I exported it and injected it into the game using 3DSToM2.exe and MyWarcraftStudio to see how it looked. When I had it about right I used UltimateUnwrap3D to add a UV map to it and skinned it!

    Wow. +Rep when I can. I was going to try doing this kind of stuff, as a matter of fact, I had 3dsMax downloading. But, of course, the download broke.

    Yep, 3DSMax 9 commercial. You don't "have" to use 9, but that was the the best I saw then I downloaded it from a torrent site so I grabbed that one.

    Nice edit, + 2 rep. Really Im bit of envious that you can manipulate models like that, are you really making it from scratch or are you using models as a base and then reshape them? Either way, it's nicely done, concerning about that I can't even manipulate models like that and I always screw them up so badly that it's stetching out and the whole model becomes a mess lol.

    Well i've actually tried importing models from Halo3 but unfortunately, since most of the guns in wow have more of a slight bend for the handle, unlike most regular guns where it's about a 90º angle, it's hard to model edit in some guns. The rocket launcher, shotty, and just about all the little guns look ok on some characters, but I can't get any of them to look good on more then just one race

    I'm workin with the regular assault rifle from Halo 3, not the one that zooms but the one you usually start with.
