    Heroic Badge Grinding Guide

First of all, I have been a lecher for quite a while now and the guilt has grown to a point that I cannot stand. I finally began posting so that I could post a guide.
It's been hard to think of something that I can post that might help you guys out, but I've given it thought and considered the up and coming patch.

Second of all, I looked and searched but did not see anything like this, and I know how much of a crime it is to repost something.

So Karazhan is a dead give away to an abundant amount of badges, as it is quite easy and there are numerous bosses that can be killed all dropping 2 badges,
(Attumen and Prince average each other out).

Also, Zul'aman is another raid instance that I farm regularly, but not all others have on farm, so there are 13 badges that you may not be receiving every three days.

For this guide, I talk about the instances I do to grind badges to waste time, make money, and get prepped for 2.4.

The following are the instances that I have found beneficial for grinding badges:

    Shattered Halls
By far the best heroic in my opinion for grinding badges as it has the opportunity to be very quick with a large badge output.

Badge Count - 5 badges including the added 2nd boss and executioner at the end of the instance both dropping a badge but also being very easy.

Stilla's Suggestion for Living - This instance is tankable by any class as long as the dps and crowd control are competent and on top of their game, but a Paladin tank makes this place almost too easy.
With a paladin, crowd control is almost not needed. But even with a Paladin tank, it's best to take the gauntlet slow and be nice to your healer making sure he has mana for the lengthy (but easy) boss fight at the end of said gauntlet.

Nice Drops - The Spellstrike Hood Pattern drops here off of the first boss, absurd amounts of runecloth, and because of the large number of enemies in such a small instance, plenty of greens drop for the amount of time you are in there.
Also notable, a main hand fist weapon that is fairly decent, but worn by many for looks. It is The Bladefist, the weapon worn by the last boss.

    Botanica
Flying mount needed, but you should have it if you are going into a heroic. Not the quickest place, but not difficult.

Badge Count - 5 badges again, no different bosses than normal and not much of a change in the boss fights.

Stilla's Suggestion for Living - Any tank works just fine for this place, but this place is not melee friendly. Any ranged class is great as they make the boss fights easier that require moving.
As a ranged class, you will live much longer, particularly on the 3rd boss fight with the unexpected hellfire that rips through melee. Also, I cannot stress how important it is to attempt to find the invisible enemies as the tank and be
aware of what you are pulling and when. These mobs in here buff each other and actually change to be susceptible to different types of magic. Being careful will make this run go much quicker.

Nice Drops - Numerous patterns drop in here. First are the tailoring patterns, the Battlecast Pants that drops off of the Second bossand the Whitemend Hood that drops off Warp Splinter, the last boss. The last is a Jewelcrafting pattern off of the trash mob, Sunseeker Botanist. Design: Coronet of Verdant Flame

    Mechanar
This used to be the best way to farm until they nerfed the 5 badges, but with the help of Vectorian and his 5 badge exploit, we can still get 5 badges! And we all know just how easy this place is.

Badge Count - 4 without exploit, 5 with. Cakewalk instance, however.

Stilla's Suggestion for Living - Be ready for the gauntlet, depending on the tank, the group can take plenty of damage during it and the healer can get overwhelmed. If you aren't 100% sure you can make the whole thing, reset it and you'll be right back where you were but you'll have been able to rest up and you won't have to kill anything you have already killed.

Nice Drops - There are no notable patterns or anything that drop in here besides the overabundance of arcane tomes, sunfury signets, fel armaments, and marks of sargeras. Runecloth galore, might I add.

    Mana-Tombs
I love this one because it seems to be the daily more than others. Which is obviously random, but maybe it's just me, it is the daily more often damnit!

Badge Count - 3-4 Badges depending on whether or not someone can summon Yor. Kind of a fun instance too....

Stilla's Suggestion to Living - You will want to be prepared for debuffs. Most are long lasting, do good amounts of damage/reduce damage done, and some have other effects. It's good to have more than one dispeller in case the healer (if priest or paladin) gets a silence debuff, you will be able to save them from the damage they will take with said debuff. The first boss also does nothing but shadow damage, so a tank with lots of health is suggested. Besides that, most boss fights and trash pulls are fairly straight forward.

Nice Drops - Most notable in this instance is the enchant Formula: Enchant Boots - Fortitude. It is wanted by so many people in trade chat, and so few people have it that it is almost painful. This enchant makes going definitely worth it if you don't have it. I still don't have it..... Also notable are the druid tanking pants from the last boss. Forestwalker Kilt is not only worn by the two druid tanks in my guild, but is also referenced on this Druid Tank Gear Guide on Elitistjerks.

    The Steamvault
This is another instance which I like because there is very little trash which can be conquered with ease (I don't RP).

Badge Count - 3 Badges, fun instance in my opinion.

Stilla's Suggestions for Living - Be clear on who is doing what for the first boss fight, such as the dps on which of the adds and make sure that moving is essential. "Shoot and Scoot" as we say in our guild. But keep moving or you will lose, simply put. For the second boss, a paladin tank can take care of all the adds. The consecrate interrupts their casting and pulls them directly to him, they also hit for little. If you don't have a paladin tank, wound poison does the trick by allowing dps to outdps the add's healing, but it doesn't hurt to interrupt their casting if it gets to be too heavy.

Nice Drops - The epic Battlecast Hood Pattern drops from here off of the last boss, and was my first ever epic pattern drop, so it has sentimental value, in a sense. Also, Priests are hard pressed to find pants better than the Pontifex Kilt unless they have access to T5 leggings or items in Hyjal and BT.

I post this badge grinding guide, because it can be quite lucrative in more than one way.
    1) New Badge gear is coming out in 2.4 that will be accessible on Quel'Thalas isle.
    2) In the new patch the Primal Nethers and Primal Vortexes will be BoE
    3) Heroic dailies are worth 25g and 2 more badges. Mo' money!
    4) Greens and trash drops, sharded blue drops, BoE blues and epics can all create lots of money opportunities and are more abundant than you would think!

Maybe I posted a wall of text, but suggestions on how I can improve my posting method or any suggestions to the guide would be great! I'm hoping I can continue my relationship with MMOwned and continue posting. Unless I'm banned I'm here for the long haul, or until I get over my WoW addiction.

Give a man a fish and he's fed for a day, teach a man to fish and you've ruined a good monopoly.

Yeah Kara is the best, but it's once per week per character. For serious badge farming you have to do other instances the rest of the week.

I'll second adding Black Morass. With any competent group it's 20-30 minutes from zone in to finish for just as many badges as SV. Save your Chrono beacons for the 3rd set of portals. 1 person per wave drop one by the portal and the adds and rift bosses will die in a few seconds. Travel time to the zone sucks, but apparently they're adding a portal to CoT in 2.4 so that will alleviate it.
