Memphiz's guide on creating profits selling level 40 Characters to account selling websites.

First off, il start with a bit of background information.
I hang out alot on the MMOGlider Ventrilo, some of you know me as Kovy. i was listening to someone speak about selling level 40 accounts instead of level 70's. this got me interested.
So i did some research, crunched some numbers, came out with some good facts/assumptions.

-Leveling from 1-40 Is easier than 1-70, aswell as cheaper/quicker.
-Using glider to level from 1-40 is also safer, as botting detecting employee's will spend more time searching nagrand, rather than STV.
-Selling to websites offer a greater sense of security, rather than to a unverified/unknown customer.

I Understand not everyone has glider, and its not absolutely nessacary. although it does seem more efficient, if you enjoy leveling characters in warcraft that much, there shouldnt be a problem. Glider <--- Link to MMOGlider

How much money will i need?


With anything, you need money to make money. i personally went out and sat in line at best buy for 5 hours last night to pick up 6 boxes of WoW at 10 dollars each. because i bought a sale price, il use a regular wow CD key price as an example.

Lets say, you have 100 dollars. if Warcraft is 19.99 where you live, you should be able to pick up 5 copies, bearing you have the change to cover the tax/you live in Oregon.

5x Warcraft: -$100.

Now, you create a trial account. http://www.warcraft.com
That trial account give you 10 days of wow for free. register a CD key on that account, you have 40 days to get to level 40. thats a level a day, shouldnt be hard. even faster if you use glider, and glide overnight.

now that you have your account, run over to an account buying website. lets use Buy WoW, WoWEURO, EQ, EQ2, FFXI, LOTRO, VSOH, Accounts For Sale As an example.

from my past experiences, and endless hours trying different combinations in the quote generator, i have determined that a level 40 in full greens, 100g in bag, 100g in items, 300 skinning and a riding mount on a pvp server either faction has THE SAME VALUE TO THEM AS a character level 40, full greens, no gold no items no tradeskills no mount on a pve server. TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR CHARACTER.

The average price of an account is 37 to 42 dollars. occasionally you come across a combo thats in need, and you get a quote of something crazy. i got a quote for a horrible mage UD pvp on a populated server (wont say, apparently you get more for it) for 109 dollars. i have 56 hours to get my guy to 40 before the quote expires, its 10 :P

anyways, lets do some math.

5x WoW: -$100
Leveling: 1-3 Weeks, depending on your 1337sk1llz0rz
End result: 5 Level 40's
Sale: 40 (price per account) x 5 (accounts) = 200 dollars.

basically, your doubling your money if you get the "average quote" for an account. there are many variables, I.E you find your leveling quickly, and you want to level it more (i dont reccomend, although). or you get banned, etc.

if you bought CD keys on boxing day like me, this is how your chart will break down:

6x wow: -65.00
Leveling: 2 weeks, i have glider elite and im teh pwn at leveling. 3 now, 3 after the other three are done:
End Result: 6 Level 40's
Sale 40 (price per account) x5 (all but one i got the same quote on) +106 (my mage quote) = 306.00

306.00
-65.00
241.00

il have turned a profit of 241.00. thats easy mode cash, just for playing warcraft.


BONUS CASH SELLING THE GOLD

im not going to write a huge second section on selling gold, because thats not too hard. basically, make a "holding" account to hold all the gold you get. you can end up selling the gold for around 22 dollars for 1k. not much, considering level 40's arnt hxc0rz farmz0rz, but its better than giving it to the account buyer.

i sell my gold to a friend i know over AIM, but apparently Buy WOW Gold, Warcraft Gold, World of Warcraft Gold, FFXI Gil, Final Fantasy XI Gil, Lineage 2 Adena buys gold. never looked into it.

Hm. have anyone tried to sell their lvl 40 for $37-42 ? I only get around $26, with all uncommon, 5g. ... And $42 on my lvl 51 with epics, 300g.
