Tips 'n tricks for rogues (PvP)

ok... lets start

1) Poisons?
Always Crippling in offhand! Wound poison in mainhand... BUT if you have warrior using MS, then i recommend Mind Numbing

2) what to do against x class?

Druid
I'd open with cheap shot
while they are NOT in bear/boomkin stunlock and try to take druid out fast as you can, if they get to bear/boomking form DO NOT USE eviscrate, i recommend rupture, EA or slice and dice
don't let them use regrowth/healing touch!!!! [<- Healing Touch, LOL]
instant cast heals can't be avoided , so wound poison is really good against these guys
Resto druids: Long Fights, hard to over DPS resto druids when they are in bear form and all HOTs up
Feral druids: Even harder than Restos. Try to get them down when they are in cat form, else... you'll be eaten by a bear.
Balance: Easiest of druids, high armor though. Don't let Boomkins kite you, interrupt cyclones and roots, that should do it.

Hunter
They got flare, omg!
But you'll probably have "Dirty Tricks" so you can sap them, then wait for flare to disappear and disarm trap (if they made one)
Cheap Shot, then kidney shot, make sure you got crippling poison in hunter so they can't get away.
If they manage to get away, blind!
You can also try to gouge/cripple their pet.
Beware of Red Mode of Death, then you'll probably die, unless vanish works.
Wouldn't suggest using eviscrate.
BM hunters: Just try to avoid hunter when he is in Red Mode of Death, after that they are piece of cake
MM huns: Very nice damage, IF they get to 5 yards from you = cripple them
Surv huns: same as MM, don't let them kite you down.

Mage
Almost every mage is Frost these days, if Mage is Fire you really should kill him easily.
Open with Garrote, when they decide to blink do what ever it takes to get back to mage. Don't let them kite!
Ice Block??? Time for vanish! Vanish in CD? Bandage
You could use eviscrate against mages...
Blind and Cloak Of Shadows are really useful...
but.. if you meet arcane mage....... /rofl

Paladin
Normal Stunlock.
Keep Rupture up, but i'd keep 25 energy ready to kick paladins when they are going to heal.
OK.... Then they bubble. You can try to restealth.
Really hard opponent though.
You might score 1k crit with eviscrate, IF YOU ARE LUCKY = No Eviscrate
Retri Palas: Lot of damage! /cast evasion
Holy Palas: Do NOT let them heal, gouge, kick, stuns, AT etc.
Prot Pala: Hitted 400 with 5 combo eviscrate once , pretty hard, long and boring fight, if they manage to heal themselves you have to start all over again [except you don't have 100% HP], bleed is MUST against Protections.

Priest
Normal Stunlock, once again.
Then they probably fear you and heal themselves up... UNLESS you trinket and kick them.
(If you get kited by a Priest, consider suicide)
Keep energy to interrupt heals.
I know, their PW:Shield is annoying, but there is nothing you can do about it, except silence.
Cloak of Shadows can piss them off....
Disc Priest: They make some damage, have bubble that absorbs alot of damage, very good heals, Pain suppression <- hard opponent
Shadow priest: Lots of damage and bubble, Cloak of Shadows is pretty common sense.....
Holy priest: LOL, like disc priests, but better heals, no survivability = piece of cake

Warlock
Kablam! they are dead.

Warrior
Very feared opponent, Stunlock or bleed.
Don't know about expose armor... -3000 armor, about +20% damage
You have about 30% chance to beat warrior, if warrior hasn't better gear
Normal [MS] warrior: OMG, you died
Fury warrior: these are little easier, about 60% chance to win, not so much damage, lesser survivability
Prot warrior: Block, dodge, parry, block, miss, 100 crit! 35% chance to win, just bleed them alot.

Rogue
Stunlock OR garrote + kidney, they'll probably trinket when you use kidney shot.
Use Blind To Bandage/Restealth
Gouge to Restealth, or annoy them.
Cloak of shadows removes poisons.
Bleed them so they can't make long vanishes.
Evasion FTW.
ShS: Best stealthers, don't be suprised when you get stunlocked, bleed please.
Mutilate: Just don't let them get behind you!
Combat: Stunlock, few mutilates/hemos/SS's, Easy!
--------------------------------------

3) Talents...
Pretty basic, but popular... Shadowstep! ShS build
Great Mobility, good AP, good crit, double cooldowns, very good stealth... don't forget threat reduction xD

Or something like this, combat... good with healer Combat Build
Aderaline rush = spam SS, blade flurry, DISARM, 5.5 sec gouge, good hit chance

Mutilate, great fun, like combat... good with healer
Mutilate
More speed, snare resist, extra healing, finishing move spam, insane poisons... just get daggers

4) Some tips:
[For Belfs] When rogue vanishes you can use Arcane Torrent to get them back to fight.
Sap your opponents before starting the fight.
When "you are too far away!" from the target riding by, you can distract them... if they are auto running they run straight to you.

5) Gear
season1 is easy to get, end of the story

Big list of macros
Lots of macros

Thank you

oh yes, forgot... You should jump behind your enemy all the time, it looks like ninja and your enemy SHOULD not be able to dodge/parry your strikes [and remember line of sight].

You don't take any consideration in what spec the opponents are. Think most people are better out finding tricks out theirselfs by playing a rogue. However I really like the effort you put into it.

I personally open all fights with garrote, seeing as it silences for 3 seconds then by that time you have 5 combo points which leads to kidney shot and if against a caster i use Arcane Torrent(belf racial) and garrote on another rogue means if they use vanish then that's them screwed for atleast 3.5 minutes for more vanish , most warriors are ms and if you stun them they start to regen health therefore i find it best to bleed them, should i write a rogue guide :O?

if you use slam as a warrior in pvp you clearly fail so mind numbing is a Very bad option either you go deadly if you dont want to blind or gauge or you go instant on mainhand .

and on your combat build you gotta have the 2 points in improved sinisterstrike 5 energy is alot 2-4 more ss when adrush combat potency and all that shit make's it 4 more ss each minute maybe and thats alot

ShS and Sub build is a personal favorite for PvP, In AB, I personally like to defend flags like mine for easy, flat battlefield. But, I usually open my fights with premed, ShS, Ambush, Kidney...Just to get some quick easy damage. Especially Ambush those cloth wearers, even priests, but you could cheap shot them, I'm just really not a fan. Has to be your playing style. And for poisons, I like DEADLY, for its stacking and DoTing abilities. I can't really argue with crippling but just not my thing as a Gnome, I like to do my cheap easy kills.
My Other Mount is a Murloc.

I should edit that thread a little bit
Not adding other poisons, though

Guys, guys! Look at the guide, its great! It gives you all the fancy info when you need to be fighting every class in a common way. Im a high pvping rogue myself, i know all these things anyway, and most of the stuff i use, so i think this guy real knows how to play a rogue. Nice guide, good sir

If i may add one thing. As rogue/warrior its allways a good thing to get behind players, because from behind they dont have any defense, that means a lot more of your attacks will land, regardless of spec. (know its common sense to most people, but could'nt find anything else missing here ^^)
