Note: This guide is meant to bounce off of my previous guide on how to start multiboxing found here: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...t-started.html
If you have not read over that, or don't know what Multiboxing is just yet, this guide isn't for you.
After my post before I got a few requests to do a write up on Keyclone and how to use it. So I'll do just that. Here you will learn how to create/execute commands, use maximizer, set up Do-Not-Pass keys, assign Round Robin keys, some general info, and a few ways to customize Keyclone.
Requirements:
-Accounts ready to be multiboxed
-Keyclone (Solid ICE - the Official home of Keyclone)
Do-Not-Pass Keys:
What are they?
Do-Not-Pass keys are keys you tell keyclone you do NOT want to pass through to each client. This can be extremely useful for character control in fact, vital.
To assign these keys just click in the text field and hit the key you want.
Round Robin Keys:
What are they?
Round Robin keys are keys that you assign that require multiple strokes of the key to be sent through each client; this sets up an alternation system.
Example: If your playing a set number of shamans you can assign the keybind you use for Earth Shock to Round Robin. This allows you to keep a constant upkeep of interrupts instead of burning them all at once.
Maximizer:
What is Maximizer?
maximizer allows you to assign an area and maximize each client to your screen(s).
The green area you see is the area of my first display I want to show. (my main) After assigning an area you can select it to modify a few settings.
Name: this needs to be something you can remember. I use "region1", "region2", etc. These names are needed later on for command crafting.
x,y: Position of the window.
w,h: Size of the window.
Snap to grid: not needed. Just used for easier window resizing.
Enable Maximizer: Needed if you want to use this feature
PiP: This is a bind you use ingame to switch out windows if needed.
Display: This is where you can choose a second or third etc monitor to setup Maximizer on. (I use two)
This is what my second display settings look like...
I use the same settings for each window (4) excluding size, position, and name. Each window needs to have a different name.
This is what my final setup looks like with maximizer on: http://i34.tinypic.com/a41pio.jpg
Command Editor:
What do commands do?
Commands are something you can execute upon startup of Keyclone to launch and place each client in the place you specify in the previous step within maximizer. You will create a new command for each client you want to launch. They will all contain pretty much the same info.
Name: This is just to name your command so you know what your choosing from a list.
Cpu affinity: I use "none"
Program: Browse for your Wow.exe on your computer. This tells the command what to execute.
Keymap: none
Region: This reverts back to your Maximizer settings. The command will execute this client in the location you specified with the same region name in maximizer.
Wow:username: Check this. This will input whatever you type there into the account login name for each client so all you have to do is type your pass.
wow:maxfpsbk: This is to set a max fps your other clients can reach while running in the background of which ever client you have selected. This helps performance.
maxfps: This is to set the max fps you want to get while in your selected client.
Rinse and repeat for each client.
How to execute each client:
To execute them, goto your main window of keyclone and select your command name from the list and hit connect. (you may have to type it your first time)
Override Settings:
Your override key is used to PAUSE keyclone from sending strokes to your other clients. By default it is "PAUSE" but you can change it as shown above.
When you are paused there will be a notification on your screen:http://i33.tinypic.com/2ujqd5y.jpg
You can even alter the way this looks using the settings above.
General Info:
-You can always find your KEY from going to setup>about
-You can enable/disable/change any of the Keyclone sounds at Setup>Sound Events
Thats about it for keyclone.
Final Setup: http://i36.tinypic.com/2dienmu.jpg
There are obviously other things you can do with it but are not needed for the average user. Enjoy![]()
