Low effort Blood of Sargeras farming
I've been looking for easy ways to farm blood of sargeras with minimal effort in the forums, and I haven't found any. I've been always the AH type and farming Blood of Sargeras to craft stupid rare gems really got in my way. So I'll share what I'm doing nowadays to get them with low effort.
Pre-acknoledgements
- This is intended for your crafting alts, the ones that need the Blood of Sargeras (In my case, three jewelcrafting alts)
- This is RNG heavy, but has been working for me just fine in the last week
Requisites
- Revered with The Wardens, as you need the Bloodhunter enchant in your shoulders
- Park the char in a area with high mob density (the murloc island in Val'Sharah, or any raptor WQ place)
Explanation
My aim is to take advantage of the "bad luck protection" that Blizz has implemented in the game, and log in with the chars, get a quick drop for Bloodhunter's Quarry, worth 1-5 Blood of Sargeras, log out, be back later.
So I've been logging every ~2 hours, and it's really easy to get your Bloodhunter's Quarry drop by pulling packs of 10+ mobs and slaughtering them, usually doesn't take more than 4-5 pulls of this kind to get it. I tried to log in every hour, but either I've been RNG screwed or this "bad luck protection" has more than 60mins CD
Hope this helps!

This looks very interesting. Could you elaborate on bad luck protection? I'd heard that Bliz admitted to bl protection's existence for legendaries but I'm not sure what they have said if anything about other stuff.

I believe with most of these shoulder enchants you're basically guaranteed to get a drop every hour. There's a bit more information found in the comments here

How much does ti cost on your server? In my server Felwort Seeds sell for 1k-1.2k.

The seeds are around 1.5k on my server. But it's still cheaper than if I were to flat out buy the bloods from a vendor for how much they are worth. (Will vary depending on your professions).
Some people's BoS have a value of only around 700g or so, because they don't either have the rank 3 patterns, or do not have the materials to do some of the higher price items.
JC is a prime example, with the Saber's Eyes. The cut gems go between 9-10k, raw is 12k. It's a little out of whack right now, but there are none on the AH anymore. So probably when the cut gems run out, the prices will reset and there will be more raw gems on the market ... anyway.
Mats for 1 Raw Saber's Eye:
Furystone - 1.6k
Pandemonite - 3.9k
Brimstone - 111g
Felwort - 215g
Sub-Total = 5,826g
Lets just say the Gem goes for 10,000g that means, any Blood that you can obtain for under 4,174g is a profit.
Highest priced item for Dreadleather is the Mask, so... 6,900g.
Costs to make are:
Stonehide Leather - 91g
Felhide - 980g
Sub-Total 1,071g
Now it takes 2 Bloods for this item, so Difference of 5,829g means you can only spend 2,914g per Blood to make nothing. so you have to go cheaper than that. Big difference in price.
