    Guild apping guide

    How to app!

TBH, this is really commonsense, but from some of the apps on some of my old guilds, some people really need a few hints

    Online apping

Read the forums! If there is no stickey saying how you should app on the recruitment part of the fourm, browse around looking for one, here is one of the most common apps structures i have seen.

    Character Name:
    Real Life Name:
Age: (If they like have a 16+ age limit, you can lie, but dont let them find out that you did!)
    Class:
Talent Build: (tbh, put a link like this one here ]Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft, makes you look better!)
Gear: (Do an armory link here)
Professions: (You can give them an armoury link here)
    Old Guilds: (put a WarcraftRealms.com - WarcraftRealms.com link here.)
Why you left: (if you have had a bad history with one or two guilds in you history, dont say that, put "I had a nice time with then until i fell out with one of their members(DONT SAY THEIR NAME! beacuse they may talk to this person, and you dont want that do you?), and he/she really upset me)
Why this guild?: (Here put somrhitng like, "I keep on hearing good stuff about your guild, and that your growing, and i want to be apart if that growth)

    Ingame apping

Most on-raiding guilds do this, where most of your members won't have been filtered through a system (Online apping).

Here, all you really need to do, is act far above your age(if your young) or your age if you are like twenty something. Act smart, and full of life, if they ask you, Why do you like playing WoW? You dont reply, well..... i think its fun...... Do you? You reply Yeh! I think its great! (and explain your fav bits of WoW.)

Also, try to use good gramma. Like a 7 year old could.
Use caps and a full stop!
Also us ! to emphasize things like i did in the paragraph above!

Also, they may ask you to do a run with them, but only very few people will you that, don't say "No i'm busy" Because you really ain't, your trying to app for a guild, and this won't gibe you good rep with them because you want them to think you are dedicated! If you really cannot go, explain your situation, and say that you'll come on a run with him/her tomorrow

PS: With your lying about your age, MAKE IT BELIEVE ABLE! If you are 8 years old, dont say your 17.... it just won't work!!

    Gl in your new guild!

    Re: Guild apping guide

(assuming you're apping to a PvE guild)

Don't lie about your age, chances are they will find out sooner or later =], especially when you have to use ventrilo often (Many guilds will require the use of this and a working mic, as this is important for organizing raids )

Be very specific when answering any question on an application, @nd d0nt writ lik this b3caus3 it l00kz ret@rd3d. many applications will have common questions such as "What can you offer to the guild" "What interests you in <Insert guild name here> although I can't tell you what to write, because everyone is different and has different ideals as to why they would fit well into a guild, and what interests them... I can tell you what not to write.

Things like "I have a good sense of humor and can provide a few good laughs, (If they wanted a few good laughs they would look up a joke site, so don't even try it)I play my class very well (When apping to a guild, they will be under the basic assumption that you can play your class very well), i'm good at what I do (Same as the last)

When a guild is considering recruiting someone, they are looking for someone who will be very reliable, and won't end up being flakey.. especially on progression nights. They want players will will show up to every raid they can, and just notify the guild leaders if they can't. They want players who will farm their own consumables for raids (Select few don't think consumables help much but that is very far from right).

Also, if they ask questions about how far you've gotten in BWL//AQ//NAXX ect;.. don't lie about it, there are too many ways to show if you are lying, and if caught lying about it I can guarantee you will get denied from that guild.

Make sure not to bug the leaders about the status of your application and invitation to the guild, because chances are this will wear out your welcome
depending on the patience of the person you are talking to.

And last but probably the most important, if you do plan to app to a guild.. make sure to show up a half hour early to every raid with full consumables, bandages (Just be ready to go if you're needed). if you aren't invited for that raid don't be discouraged, and just do the same for the next raids. this will show you're reliable, and you are bound to be invited for a trial run eventually.

Anyways just a few of my pointers, just remember to apply to guilds that suit your raid // class experience, as well as a guild that raids around the times you are on the most.

    Re: Guild apping guide

Good tips, it's funny though when I read this it's like what I used to tell people when I worked in career services:

Me: Ok, it says here on your resume your a noobtard, is that true?
    Guy: Yes.
Me: Ok, you need to take that off and lie about it.
Guy: You mean, say I'm not a noobtard?
    Me: Yes.
    Guy: But... isn't that dishonest?
Me: Yes, but that's how life works. And smile noobtard.
