Hello OC Users!
Today I bring a guide that will help you make a quick buck before Legion, if you're willing to invest some gold.
Any Garrison that has a Trading post and is level 3, will sometimes have a trader come by. These traders allow you to trade raw materials into Patterns and Primal spirits, which are both used for professions. This means we can take advantage of the market for materials, as the specific material is often bought out on the days the specific trader is there, allowing you to flip materials quite easy.
The order
The traders that come aren't random. It follows this order:
Ore -> Dust -> Fur -> Leather -> Herb
To find the current item go to Wowhead and scroll down till you see "Today in Draenor" - Remember if you're playing on NA servers to switch the region below the "Today in Draenor" text.
This will tell you what material you're going to sell today, while you buy up other.
Buying and profit
Usually you can buy materials much faster, if you advertise it in trade chat, as many people would rather send it COD to someone that use their time putting materials on AH, so this should be taken advantage of.
There are 6 materials you wanna buy:
- Blackrock ore & True Iron Ore. These usually go for below 2-2.5 gold on days that don't have trader, while 2.5-3.5 gold on days that have the trader.
- Draenic dust. Usually goes for below 2 gold on days without trader and usually 2.5+ gold on days with trader.
- Sumptuous fur. Usually below 2.5 gold and usually above that on days with trader.
- Raw beast hide around 3-5 gold on days without trader, but can go up to as much as 6 gold on days with trader.
- Herbs. All draenor herbs go for below 1.5 gold on days without trader and usually go for 1.5+ gold on days with trader. You may want to look for Cerulean pigment as well, as 5 herbs = 2.44 pigment, so if price of pigment is low, buy that instead.
NOTE: Herbs aren't usually used as much for this trading, so it may be worth not investing as much into these.
Selling
You want to advertise in trade chat that you're selling these items. This way we skip the AH game, the AH cut and you don't have to wait as long to get your cash out of the materials.
As always I wouldn't recommend investing too much into this as Legion is coming out soon, but the materials will still sell in big amounts as people are leveling professions. At the same time, if you feel it's not worth selling the materials straight up you may want to save them till Legion drops, because material prices usually go up due to people training professions at the start of expansions.
