    Start WoW without the News

Note that this is not mine. Just thought i would share because i found it helpful.

I've personally got tired of the stupid news screen that pops up, whenever you launch WoW, so I figured out a solution to skip this screen and get directly to WoW.

    How to do it:

Go into your WoW folder. Exmaple: C:\Programmer\World of Warcraft
Now, you can see two icons of WoW. On of them is named Launcher and the other one is named WoW. Right click on the one named WoW, than click on "Create Shortcut" I believe thats what its called on english
After that, another copy of World of Warcraft is made in your folder. Now, take the shortcut you made, right click on it, click on "Cut".
Now, go to your desktop, delete the other shortcut of World of Warcraft (the one you used before you read this guide ) and paste in the one you pressed "Cut" on before. Now, name it whatever you want, since it might be named: Shortcut to WoW - that aint nice, so we change it to: World of Warcraft.

Now, press on World of Warcraft (the one you just made) and World of Warcraft will be launched without the screen of news

    Simple and easy.

Re: Start WoW without the News

I would not suggest doing this. Because theres a purpose for that Launcher thing sides the news I got this from my gulid leader it scans for password snifers and other things like that. I dont know if this is true or not, but I dont suggest doing this. Plus whats wrong with the news .

Re: Start WoW without the News

yeah, shattered is right. thats actually why the warden is there other than just to be annoying for botters and hackers. it also looks for any keyloggers or anything that might look up your account name and password, and alerts u to it. thats why i prefer to use the launcher.
I'm partially retired from model editing. I'll still answer questions if I know the answers to them when you send them to me in a PM, but otherwise, I'm done.

the news screen is basically the warden. I downloaded hack and tried to see if it worked. Instead of my getting the news, I got a "warden warning" and it told me to take off my hack before I start the game.

Re: Start WoW without the News

The news screen functions as there in game system to detect if your using cheats or not. Im not saying remove it. Its total personal choice. I for one do not cheat so i have nothing to worry about. And really i could care less about what blizzad is doing, so really its personal style aobut it

Or you could just change the path of the existing shortcut to WoW.exe instead of Launcher.exe..
