Farm Heavy Junkbox, Arcane Crystal, and Golden Pearl same Cell (ROGUE)

Most of ya have been to the old zone Swamp of Sorrows (52-54).
It's just north of Blasted Lands, which is the beginning area for boosters and characters entering Draenor.


Directly south of the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, there is a cave entrance containing a zone labeled Stagalbog Cave.
The rough coordinates for this cave are: 66,75.


Stagalbog Cave is the largest such cave in Swamp of Sorrows. It compares to the caves scattered through lvl 60-70 Nagrand in Outlands in terms of size.

The mobs inside the cave fall into the range to yield the item "Heavy Junkbox", which is the principal Ravenholdt Reputation item required for characters going for the Feat of Strength achievement "INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE".

Any rogue able to pickpocket and sap mobs that fall between 52-56 should be fine in this cave.

There is one named quest NPC inside, so people do come in, but mostly just other miners.


There are about 6-10 different ore spawn points inside Stagalbog Cave as well.
Most of them are Rich Thorium veins, which have the greatest chance to yield pre-expansion gems including the coveted Arcane Crystal.

The others spawn as Small Thorium and sometimes Truesilver Ore.

In addition to these two resources, the mobs in the cave drop Golden Pearl (required for old spellpower enchant and crafting).
They also drop some Runecloth.

This place is bottable/farmable with any Vanilla account and up.

TL;DR version:

take a rogue above lvl 52 to Stagalbog cave in Swamp of Sorrows.
pickpocket the mobs at location 66,75 and harvest Thorium ore nodes.
kill mobs to reset pickpocket and to have a chance for looting golden Pearl.

enjoy the easy Heavy Junkbox, that can be sold via forums to players going for rare achieves.

Compared to LBRS, I found it to be a surprisingly good rate considering the mob density in the cave is much lower.
The Makrura and the quest mob do drop the boxes, but the crabs don't have a loot table.
Any naga or giblin should have a chance to drop one. They also give up the Star Ruby some.

I can try it for a bit and see how it compares to instance resetting.
My primary rogue is between 90-100 atm but this would work well at lower levels due to mobs being spaced out.

When they were all dead I alt tabbed while stealthed or just mined another part of the zone (and SW blasted lands!)
When I came back unless someone else had been there, mobs and nodes galore had respawned lol

I don't know why you added the Golden Pearl Part. It doesn't seem to be worth anything anymore since they removed enchanting rods with cata. Or did i miss something? Averages Price on the AH is under 10g

Hi there.

iirc Golden Pearl is a component of the formula Enchant Weapon: Spellpower, which is a super common Molten Core drop.
People do buy the scrolls, and yes, getting Pearls for 10g is decent, but free is better (duh)

I had all different types of pearls the 2nd time through the cave.
Golden Pearl was simply the first one that dropped.

On my server enchanters with the MC recipes get about 99g-999g per blue scroll.
Other things like Striking have gone down in value. but for some reason a few of the others still sell decently.

p.s. similarly Righteous orb has lost value on most servers, presumably because the instance it comes from had it level lowered.
it's a component of the enchant Crusader, which sells for more than Spellpower scrolls.

the cave however has the appropriate level mobs for Insane junkboxes.

i've tried spire but it seemed to be pretty shit. but lbrs i went too looked different to video i watched on guide, dunno but mightve been wrong instance.
