The big guide on what to do before WoD

I guess there are many people out there that -just like me - have no idea what to do with the few remaining weeks of this expansion.
This guide is written for those lost souls.

I hope you get something out of this. I know I learnt a lot by just creating this guide

In this guide I will go through all the things I find useful do to before Warlords of Draenor hits.
Some things may seem a bit given, over-explained and noobed-down. If that is the case for you, I suggest that you just ignore
that part and move on the next one.

I will use a variety of different links, videos and also other guides that are not made by me, so make sure to go to the source and give
credit where credit's due.


The things I will go over in this post is:

Making gold

First of in this post is about the art of making gold.

Even though there will be a inflation of gold going into Warlords of Draenor, having a bank to start off with is not a bad idea. I would
recommend aiming for around 50.000 gold. This sum will help you finance all the gold sinks there are in garrisons and whatnot. It
will also help you afford those overpriced enchants, gems, and crafts that always are in the early stages of expansion.


The first thing you need to know about gold-making is that it takes time. It takes time to farm, it takes time to configure and learn how
to use your AH-addons. There are few to none shortcuts


Farming spots

There are tons of videos out there explaining different spots to farm. I will show and explain some of the spots I used in order to hit my goal of
1 million gold.


The first spot is in Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Red = The route you will take
Black = Some of the rare spawns that spawn around the area
White = entrance to Guo-Lai Halls, this is where you turn in the keys

I really like this route since it brings you the gold almost instantly. I will have other routes in this guide that might give you more gold/hour but it
requires you to have the items you are farming on the AH for quite some time.



Here you are going to farm Shao-Tien mobs. These mobs spawn in big packs and are fairly easy to AoE down. They drop tons of cloth,
greens and blues. But what you are really after is Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Key.
These keys can be used to open Ancient Guo-Lai Cache
inside Guo-Lai Halls - This is the what makes this farming spot stand out.


One other thing to bare in mind is that it spawns Runestones on some of the walls on the ruins. Clicking these runestones will give you buff
that Increases crit chance by 5% and crit damage by 10% and stacks 5 times. Rune of Ascendancy. Keep this buff up at all times.

For this farm Potion of Luck is required.

The second route I will be going over is farming Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. The old vanilla raid located in southern Silithus.

This is my favorite spot to farm. The problem with this place is that the items you farm will not yield you instant gold. Items may sit on the
AH for weeks before finally selling. The other thing is, and I can't stress this enough Dont over-farm this placeYou will end up with tons
of green items in your bags that wont sell. The rule I use for not over-farming this is; when you have two of the same item, stop farming.

Auction House

Many of you readers might think this part sounds dull, hard or just not your thing. But this is the fastest and easiest way to earn gold. Without this part my two farming routes
explained above becomes much, much worse.

The first thing you need to know about the Auction House is that the prices vary from server to server, time of the day and day of the week.
You need to get a feel for your servers Auction House.

The second thing you need to know is what addons to use and how to use them. Addons are needed to make an easy profit, it saves so much time

I suggest you read his entire guide and especially the parts on how to setup and use TSM

Mounts and pets

So you got your gold, you are ready for expansion - you are just waiting at this point. Why not farm some mounts and pets for extra bragging points?

I will in this section cover some parts on how to farm mounts and pets. I will leave out some for obvious reasons (there are so many mounts and pets, yeeeez).

While on the mount-subject. Getting your Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth - Item - World of Warcraft now may be a good idea.
It will help you with your leveling progress since you will always have a repair guy next to you.
This mount is sold in Dalaran for 20.000 gold by default. You can read more about how to get it
cheaper if you read the comments in the wowhead-link.
Keep in mind that Kirin Tor Commendation Badge - Item - World of Warcraft are no longer being sold.

Alts and Professions

If you ever thought about leveling up that alt you have sitting on level 47, this is your time to do so. Once Warlords of Draenor hits,
having multiple alts may play a big roll. It will allow you to earn gold using the Garrison. Exactly how and how much is nothing I
know much about. But from what I've tested on the beta you can earn a few 100gold per day and character doing pretty much nothing with the Garrison.

Once you have one or more alts on level 90 i suggest that you start thinking about professions. What professions are the best
comes down to preference. But I suggest you get get professions that synergies with one and other.
Such as Mining-Jewel crafting and Herbalism-Inscription (you get the point). The more professions you can max out, the better you will be.



Addons


This is also the perfect time for you to fix your Unit Interface (UI) to make it look really good and be useful.
And you must also at the same time learn how to play without any addons at all.

With the launch of Warlords of Draenor most of your addons will be outdated for some time (a couple of hours - a few days) so you need
to make sure you are not completely lost without them.

Here are a few tips on addons you can use, if you don't like them. Have a look around and see what you like.

Lore

The last thing I will go over is lore. Even if you are not much into the lore in World of Warcraft and all you want to do is kill dragons
I think you might find it rather interesting knowing at least some of the background information about the new expansion.
There will be several new names and also a rather confusing storyline for those who haven't read anything about the lore.

Get a 13/14 lockout and sell it. Massive shortcut. If you have another account with a decently high geared character you can earn many times more by selling boosts. 70k+ an hour EASILY.
