How to: Make 50% dps list as HUNTER!!

Didn't find any other posts like this, but this is MY way to dps as a hunter, and well, I always get number 1 and makes atleast 50% of all the damage at my hunters.

Tested at: Illidan Stormrage, Sunken Temple.

Lets begin with: SPECC!!

(Actually, I made that specc really fast, and well..)

Ok, number two...Your action bars...

You'll still need all of your extra bars... A great dps hunter needs all space he can get...

Marksman Version
At 1, place Raptor Strike. This is good if you followed my speccs.
At 2, place Wing Clip. Slowing down targets easy is a neeeed...
At 3, place Concussive Shot. Slowing targets are good even in pve.
At 4, place Arcane Shot. Wait, it's not over yet!!
At 5, place Multi Shot. DONT TELL ME THIS SUCKS!! MULTI SHOT IS THE NUMBER TWO BEST HUNER ABILITY!!
At 6, place Serpent Sting. This is a really good spell actually
At 7, place Whatever You Want. Yeah I so ROCK
At 8, place Silencing Shot. Yeryerrrrr...
At 9, place Aimed Shot. As all imba dpsing hunters
And the rest whatever you want...

Beastmastery Version
At 1, place Raptor Strike. You know what I mean.
At 2, place Wing Clip. You know what I mean.
At 3, place arcane shot. Muahaha
At 4, place Multi Shot.
At 5, place auto shot. BM specced boys only shot with gun and dont use spells, and well control their pets also.
At 6, place Intimidation. STUNLOXORS FTW
At 7, place Beastal Wraith. Also you get rage if you followed my specc
At 8, place Deterancce. (SPELLING) Usefull if you get aggro...
Place whatever you want at the rest...

Number 3...How you dps...

Start with marking your target with Hunter's Mark. If there's someone with improven Hunters Mark, let him do his job.

Let the tank charge.. Start with an 9 click. Your aimed shot takes 5 seconds to cast, but at 70 in bt your hunter can easly get an 6k crit. After that spell, do an multi shot, and then an arcane shot. Sting your target, and keep going again and again. Pretty easy, huh?

BM VERSION:

Let someone mark the target. Let tank charge, and at 99%, send your pet. Do beast wraith, and if someone else when tank gets aggro, do an Intimidation. Let the tank taunt at the time the target is still stunned, and keep going as offtank or dps with pet and just shotting with auto shot. You might not get at the dps list if you're bm specced.

If you want to see another hunter doing the almost same model as me, search for Forte vs Illidan, and you'll see...

If you wanna specc survival, three words: DONT DO IT!! This specc is for some lame AB pvp, not for dpsing. I tested a hunter at a private server with t6 and warglaive of azzinoth (both), could easy get an 2k crit, but nothing... When I respecced BM, my pet could crit like 2k if I was lucky, and when I specced marksman, I was critting 12k with aimed shot... Yeryer, you see...

Welcome to the guides board, this is where we post useful stuff, for instance, stuff that's useful.

Your "Superomgimbadps specc" is shittier than shitty underwear, no offense to people with shitty underwear. As Savage Strikes: Useless in PVE, Deterrence: Useless in PVE, Deflection: Useless in PVE, Survivalist: Not useless, but can be traded to other stuff. Switch em to full Monster Slaying, Full Hawk Eye, Full Careful Aim and full Combat Experience. More AP, Crit and Damage = More dps, mkay? Get Focused Fire, even if you're not BM your pet can still add to the damage, damage = good, 2% more crit when your pet is active = better.

Remove 2/5 in imp Arcane Shot and 1/3 in Concussive Barrage, bosses can't be dazed, add to Go For The Throat, as your increased crit chance = more crits, which means your pet will have more Focus, which means it can deal more damage, which results in you doing more damage as we all know, Pet damage should be synced with its owner.

Also, the fact that Steady Shot provides more dps than the old level 60 rotation, justifies speccing it just for the Mortal Shots. Aimed Shot does not start Auto Shot as Steady Shot does, basically: Do Steady Shot, once it's fired you'll get a free Auto Shot, both critting = more damage than your Aimed Shot.

I don't mean to offend you or anything, but posting something relevant might be better than offending us actually being able to play hunters.

as a seasoned hunter i will scrutinize certain points of your trees
MM build
Concussive barrage: Low chance on working, only a DAZE not STUN and only works on succesful autoshot and if your trying to maximize your dps you won't be using white damage that often and dazing a target wouldn't exactly maximise your dps (unless dismounting a player maybe)

Barrage+Imp. Barrag: leave the AoE to Mages, SERIOUSLY

Savage strikes: hunters are RANGED class

deflection: same as above

Detternce: same as above

Imp arcane shot: put those in go for throat

use those left over talent points and put them into combat experience, careful aim, clever traps or entrapment

BM Build
i dont generally go for imp AoH and go for thick hide, endurance training and/or 1 point into imp mend pet. Same comments about your survival part

if you want decent tips and build go on wow-loot.com kaliban has lots of useful utilities on that site

and please note i know that the talent points won't fit into all catergories, i was suggesting where would be better places to put them

L2P Survival... it can be viable to improve your CC and damage but lookin at your speccs i can see why it sucked... I bet you went for pointless 41 point talent too?
Private servers kinda fail to get accurate results damages WAAY to high... pets cant crit 2k unless you give it so much potions buffs and somehow figure a way to make it drink pots and flasks, then go out a tame onyxia and make her cross breed with nightbane then give the abomination of nature a lazer cannon

Actually, as i botted my hunter entirely to 70 without learning whatever the * it means to be a hunter, it was very useful for me.

I tried reading those Hunter guides to see if my current usage is any good but mostly they are completely overdone. I dont care why i have to add 1 talent point to something that seems completely odd to me, hell.. if the dps numbers are rising, im not asking.

This guide states exactly what i was looking for, i don't have the knowledge to say that its a proper tactic.. but im going to try his specs and idea's and actually bother to test it out. I'm sure if a moderator here would reply with some incredible crit's tested, you'd be riding his dick.

In short, try it before you shoot it down.. even if its not well documented.

I think you mistook this for a good guide
I've played a hunter for ages and while i commend his efforts for trying, putting theory into practice on a PRIVATE SERVER while soloing illidan in full T6 and weapons that are supposed to be unavailable to hunters, in my honest opinion doesn't count as putting theory into practice

and despite what you say if this was a mod who posted, i would still be ripping apart why i find this post
But then again i think the Mods know how to play their respective classes...

For hunters it's all about shot rotation, I'm always in the top 5 on live servers. Most of the time I'm #1 with my pets damage combined with mine. Get a good shot rotation and spec along with it and you'll do just fine. This guy apparently doesn't know much about playing a hunter....

Survival is the absolute best raid spec once you hit 35% crit and something like 2k AP. If you really want to learn how to improve your play, I suggest you go to the forums on worldofwarcraft.com for your class and read the posts there. Every day helpful guides are made, and questions are answered. Im not putting Marks off, but BM is really the way to go for raiding until the really high tiers (ie. Hyjal, BT). Use a couple shot rotation macros (found on the hunter forums once again), pick up a good ravager or windserpent for DPS, enrage and trinket EVERY time you can, and there will be no way you fall below 1-3 on DPS.
