Slimyr Lake (Primal Farming)

Before you read this, I want everyone to know...YES this is a repost. I did a search using "Slimyr Lake" and One thread came up. That thread was written by a user here named DAXO. BUT IN NO WAY DID I COPY AND PASTE THIS!!!

Now that that is over with, Ill get right into the guide. Just like my title says, You are going to be farming at a place called Slimyr Lake. This lake is right outside of Shattrath City. Its actually off-set to the left. (Picture Will be Included On the bottom) Once you are in the lake, use some type of water breathing potion/buff.


I was farming on a Warlock when I did this, so I used Underwater Breathing Buff. It gives you underwater breathing for 10mins.

These eels are very weak, for a lv70 lock in sub-par gear, they were dropping in a matter of seconds. They dont hit hard, and have very little health.

From my experiences, They usually drop a grey and 1-2 Motes Of Water. TEN motes of Water can be turned into ONE Primal water. each PRIMAL WATER sells for about 25gold each (THIS WAS ON HAKKAR (US) PvP Server). With a few hours a day of farming at this place, Id rake in about 6-8 greens. One day I got very lucky and was able to get a blue from the eels in that lake.

This spot is quite over-farmed these days, but you can still do your average 20g per hour + 2-3 primal water. I've always felt that the eels drop greens more than other mobs...
When BC was released the eels dropped motes of mana. Too bad Blizz fixed this right away.... I had like 20 primal mana at lvl 63 and made mad gold selling the first primal mights of the server. (those were the good old days :-))

Yes... The other types of motes sell better, but every other place takes much more time to farm. For Fire Motes, The mobs are Lv71 and their attacks are VERY strong. On Hakkar US PvP server, That fire mote place was gankertown central. Every 2 mobs you'd be ganked by a stealthed rogue. In my times that Ive been in Slimyr Lake, It was quiet for the most part. Every once In a while a lowbie 60ish warrior would come by but he would be dealt with easily. Alot of others in the guild I was in, DID waste their time in the other places. They'd have 5 Primals for the day, and Id have a stack of 20! Although all the other motes sell for more, It balances out because the eels drop faster and it takes much less time

What gelormino says is right. Compared to the other primal farming spots this is still the best, although it is quite crowded at times.

I wasnt saying fire is better than water - im saying they are better than the others, those i didnt say anything about = earth, life and shadow.
