Quick way to get yourself some ilvl for LFR

So I recently dinged my alt Rogue 90, and realised my ilvl was something like 420, and was not looking forward to doing dungeon after dungeon after dungeon to get the gear to go into LFR.
So obviously, if like me you are even too undergeared to get into heroics, have a look at the list of items that are linked to the fortune of pandaria achievement, it may seem like common sense to some, but always make sure to replace your lowest ilvl items first, therefore increasing the amount of ilvl you gain the most.
Onto my main point, when farming heroics, yes, you may pick up gear from time to time, but the main way I have increased my ilvl is putting to use the heaps of justice points you get. Rather than spend them on the crappy Justice point blues at Townlong steppes, go to Stormwind, or Orgrimmar and go to the cata justice vendors, The justice trade goods vendor there will give you 250 honor points for 375 justice points. So usually i can get 250 honor from each dungeon (each boss drops 120 if you have a lvl 25 guild)
You then go to the Honor and justice vendor and start replacing your useless low level greens and blues with pvp epics. though some of the stats are wasted on resilience and pvp power, they were still a lot better than some of the junk i was wearing.
It's the day after I dinged 90 and I'm just about to go into my first LFR

PS: Don't forget to go to isle of thunder and do the Palace troves dungeon for some coins of good fortune

How not?? + Its alot easier to do battlegrounds to get honor compared to exchanging justice to honor...

Like i said, theres ALOT of people who use it to quickly get into lfr

I disagree, considering the fact that if you lose a battleground you get next to no honor, and on my realm alliance pretty much always lose, its quicker to farm this way.
People might not even know about the guy who exchanges justice for honor if they're new.
I'm just trying to be helpful

Even quicker to buy a set of pvp gear off AH and then work from that ilvl.

I'm not trying to trash or anything, but this really is common sense.
My friend who has been playing for 2 weeks did this And he really doesn't have a clue about most stuff he does.

Good guide nevertheless for people who never thought about it though :P

Enough people have thought of doing it that the item level of honor pvp gear has been artificially lowered to keep people out of the latest LFR raids.

This is actually moderately useful, but you left out one additional fun thing! When 5.3 comes out, the item upgraders will be back again, which will let you upgrade the BoA Treasure/Archeology items, which allows you to have 471 weapons, and a 471 Trinket (Quilen Statuette - Item - World of Warcraft) ready to go! If you're lucky enough to get the trinket from the rare Glinting Rapana Whelk NPC in Dread Wastes (Glinting Rapana Whelk - NPC - World of Warcraft) you'll have two pretty high i-level trinkets ready to go when you hit level 90!

In addition to that, you could move up quickly through patch 5.1 lfrs by:

1. Go to isle of thunder,
2. Find a Trove of the Thunder King - Object - World of Warcraft and if you're lucky, you'll get Key to the Palace of Lei Shen - Item - World of Warcraft
(If you're not either do the dailies or kill some rares)
3. Follow this guide:

and get a buttloads of Lesser Charm of Good Fortune - Currency - World of Warcraft.

Seriously, easier way is acquire or borrow 476 epics or higher from friends and keep them in your bags. Buy 1-2 pieces of valor gear and bump ilevel to 460+. Queue for LFR, return gear.

Profit. I've got 11 90s and all but 2 can do LFR right now.

I have the 496 cloth chest and gloves - I just transfer them to whichever alt I want to enter LFR in (for example Paladin, doesn't matter that they're cloth).

It doesn't matter if the gear isn't soulbound, it just matters that it's equippable by you, you still get the ilvls.

another really easy way to get some ilevel is by killing the 3 new rares added in 5.2 to Krasarang Wilds

Dalan Nightbreaker, Disha Fearwarden and mavis harms located in lions landing (if your horde)

Ubunti the Shade, Kar Warmaker and Muerta located in domination point (if your alliance)

The also all have fast respawn times if you get unlucky.


They drop a selection of 4 different epic trinkets that have a item level of 483.
since a recent patch ive noticed they now drop quite frequently both me and some guild mates have gotten 2 in short amounts of time making up the item levels needed to get into LFR and theres a decent chance of getting brawlers guild invites (decent enough that i see alot discarded the same with the trinkets).
