Hello, it recently occurred to me that dps ques still suck for heroic dungeons and I wanted my vp cap on my paladin, so I decided to que as a healer while playing ret on my paladin. Surprisingly it was a lot more interesting to play, and made the dungeon go alot faster as we were basically 4 dpsing with a blood dk tank smashing through mobs. This will be a quick and basic guide, as people who understand the glyph will understand the concept very quickly. This guide was written sort of as a "FUN" thing, as this isn't really anything game-breaking, it just makes dungeon clears faster, easier, and a lot more fun for the healer Onto the guide:
SUGGESTIONS
I HIGHLY suggest you do NOT attempt this if you are not in atleast full 463 heroic gear, this method is mainly used for geared, knowledgeable players to obtain VP cap or for their own reasons of being there. If you cannot fulfill the role of being a support class and keeping your group topped, do NOT que up like this!
Talents/Glyphs:
This support set up works because of Retribution's off healing ability, as well as the important glyph:
Glyph of the Battle Healer
Requires Paladin
Using melee attacks while using Seal of Insight heals a nearby injured friendly target, excluding the Paladin, within 30 yards for 30% of damage dealt.

Tier 1 Talents:
All 3 of these are optional, they are merely personal preference.
Tier 2 Talents:
The main talent to choose here is Fist of Justice, simply because you won't need to cc mobs with repentance, and you also do not need a slow.
Tier 3 Talents:
I chose to stick with the instant flash heal to heal through spike damage, it also is extremely handy if the tank is taking alot of damage to just judge a mob>cast a faster flash of light and repeat that to keep up with the tank. Sacred shield does not absorb enough as ret to be useful, and the Eternal Flame heal is not really to optimal since the HoT is not that strong either.
Tier 4 Talents:
All three of these options are viable, however I believe Hand of Purity wins the trophy as you are playing as a support class, you need to utilize your support abilities. In this case a 10% overall damage reduction every 30 seconds, with a 70% DoT damage reduction is amazing.
Tier 5 Talents:
~I believe Holy Avenger is the best playing as a support damage/healer simply because during certain fights there will be a lot of healing you'll have to do. Having Holy Avenger up means every time you Crusader Strike, or Judge someone, or use Hammer of Wrath, basically anything that generates holy power, will give you 3 charges. This means if the tank is going to take a ton of damage, pop Holy Avenger and rotate Crusader Strike/Judge with Word of Glory to heal.
~Divine Purpose is also nice to pick up if you have a good tank simply because of the RNG of procs, which means you can get a free Templars Verdict or Word of Glory, both in which help heal.
Tier 6 Talents:
All three talents again are viable, however I believe it narrows down to personal preference and situations. I ordered these from most useul to least (in my opinion)
~ Holy Prism: I take this talent simply because I prefer short cooldowns, and the heal from it is amazing to top the group off from aoe.
~ Execution Sentence: A good talent to put on the tank to heal him while you do your dps rotation which also heals him, depends if there is alot of aoe or not.
~ Light's Hammer: Decent if you are pulling large packs of mobs and want to keep up with small aoe heals, however hard to set up if the tank is moving alot.
Glyphs
These are the set of glyphs I personally find best for this role:
Glyph of the Battle Healer
Requires Paladin
Using melee attacks while using Seal of Insight heals a nearby injured friendly target, excluding the Paladin, within 30 yards for 30% of damage dealt.
It is important to note, ONLY MELEE ATTACKS WORK. This means Crusader Strike/Templar's Verdict.
Glyph of Protector of the Innocent
Requires Paladin
When you use Word of Glory to heal another target, it also heals you for 20% of the amount.
Glyph of Flash of Light
Requires Paladin
When you Flash of Light a target, it increases your next heal done to that target within 7 sec by 10%.
Gear
Basically, the more damage you can do, the more healing you can do due to the Glyph of Battle Healer, so the better the gear you have the easier this will be (however if you're in full raid finder gear minimum you probably wont be doing dungeons unless you want VP cap).
To give an example, I was healing these in full s12 elite non upgraded gear as of patch 5.1 without any issues, so that should give you an idea on what type of gear works (basically anything that's i450+ that lets you keep up with the heals).
Rotation
Basically while playing this support set up, overall the more damage you're outputting, the more heals are going out. This means if you are in the situation that the whole group is about to take some aoe damage, it works best to pop something like Holy Avenger to keep spamming Crusader Strike/Judgment into Templar's Verdicts. If you are hitting trash for 200k Templar's Verdicts, you are doing about 60k heals everytime, so sometimes depending on your gear/cooldowns up it is better to just DPS to heal than it is to WoG to heal. Running glyph of flash of light means if you can Flash of Light before woging someone, take the opportunity. For example I tend to flash of light the tank and follow it with a three point WoG.
Always have SEAL OF INSIGHT on unless you are not going to need to heal!
Video
Will upload one will I get home.
Hopefully this helps to make your dungeons more enjoyable and allows you ret paladins to get faster ques and possibly loot bags! Very random guide I know, but I enjoyed doing it and I hate long dps ques so I figured i'd share.
I'd also like to add: "Is this raid viable?"
A: It would not be as strong as just playing as holy, however if you are struggling in say 10man reg by a little bit of a dps issue that could be fixed with an extra 50k+ dps, it could be possible to try it. Wouldn't hurt at all to give it a try, you may have to change up the talents a bit however.
