Bot gold without herbing / mining.

Gathering can be the most unsafe, and sometimes most inefficient way to bot gold in World of Warcraft. After receiving 2 bans on gatherer toons I've decided to look into other ways to bot without getting banned:

Method 1: Pet Farming

Pros:
Possibility of high profit in short period of time.
Farming in low-level / low populated area. Less chance of report.
Keep some for yourself

Cons:
Possibility of no profit in long period of time.
Volatile market / market flooding
Market may crash with introduction of account wide pets.


What you will need:
A bot. As always HB is recommended. (Honorbuddy Starterpack and info)
Profiles
Character between level 40-65 (depending on what pets)
Lootfilter Add-on.

Lootfilter is essential for farming pets simply because it can be set to auto-delete gray items, which you will get tons of and they can lead to full bags rather quickly. With loot filter I've been able to farm hours on end without having to empty bags.
**Be sure you do not have it set to delete white items as it will delete pets**

This is my favorite method to farm. I usually set up one bot going after captured fireflies in zangamarsh while the other the other farms up a Red Whelpling or Hyacinth Macaw. Most pets go for 3-7k while the more rare ones can net up to 20k each. Pet farming does require some luck, I've seen 4 rare pets in one night and had zero the next. If volatility is not for you then the next method will be more interesting. I also advise against putting pets up in the AH as they seem to get undercut rather quickly. Instead sell in trade or to guildies at a slight discount.

Method 2: Instance Farming

Pros:
Steady, calculable income
Inside your own instance means no one will ever see you.
Vendors will always buy / no market volatility
No "Abuse of the economy" ban.

Cons:
Gold / hour may be lower than other methods
Requires high level and decently geared player
Slim selection of profiles

What you will need:
HB
Profiles (I recommend the ones by Botanist)
High level and well geared character. (tank preferred)

Instance farming works by soloing an instance multiple times (runs take time so the per hour limit isn't an issue) and vendoring all the drops / trash you find. The main advantage here is that its really hard to get caught botting instances. No one will be able to see unless the profile takes you outside to mail/vendor. The income is slightly lower than gathering and pets but it is steady and dependable, especially if you have multiple accounts botting individual instances; the gold will begin to rack up quickly.

This isn't really true if you do /who Instance you can see who is inside :P

True but that'd only get you reported if someone is hunting you, or your guild gets suspicious. And I wouldn't suggest any botting while in a guild that doesn't know / support it.
