I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CREATE A TICKET AND NEED A GM TO HELP WITH A PORTION OF THIS. THIS IS NOT IN MY OPINION SOMETHING THAT INVOLVES TRICKING OR MANIPULATING A GM AS IT IS USING WORDING ON THE PART OF BLIZZARD AS A TOOL TO HAVE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ENFORCE IT. THIS IS NOT THEORY OF A GM MAY HELP YOU. THIS IS A FACTUAL METHOD OF CHANGING OR GAINING A NAME WHICH IS OTHERWISE UNOBTAINABLE.
Ok I haven't posted in awhile mainly because I have been working on a few other things.
*NOTE*
Awhile back I was charging people money to get them names on servers. Rare names, things like, Nerf, or Nerfed, or Lol, things of that nature. This is a social engineering tactic. You must do the research yourself. This is not considered an exploit, but more of a trick that is useful to get the name you want on almost any server.
*REQUIREMENTS*
-Username should not be in use currently by an active player on your realm. For example if you just say David the other day, then this will not work.
-Usernames cannot have cursewords in it. Things like 'grape' get picked up as rape.
-Usernames that you are trying to take over cannot be listed on the WoW Armory.
*The lookup*
Find a name that you want. I choose Cheese for mine. Head over to World of Warcraft's official site. Click on the top right where you do a search. Type in the name. Example I used was Cheese. It will pull up all the servers with characters named Cheese. Find the server that your trying to get registered on. This is where it either works or doesn't. If the name is taken but is not showing up on the armory, then its being 'squatted'. Squatted names are not allowed per deep in the ToS as its hinders the flow of online play.
*The execution and take over*
Create a temporary character with a name that is similar. I chose 'Chheese'.
Create a new ticket.
At the top of the ticket type in: NAME-POLICY, use one return line.
Now explain that you want the original name Cheese. You are using a temp name. Explain that the name is not being used and being squatted. You would like to have this name.
The response will be that they either approve or denied the claim. I have never had it denied if enough research is shown that they are not using the character. They get flagged for a rename and you will get an email saying the name is available.
*BE CAREFUL*
Just as you used this, someone can use this against you. Name squatting is good. But its hard to justify it.
The reason i am posting this now is because of MoP. I have exploited and sold over 2,000$ worth of names that involve Panda's.
Time for me to pass the torch.
