Just as a note, the reason why there is more herbs than ores in the last screenshot is that I am selling the ore cheap to guildies as well as prospecting it on my own. Still haven't been bothered to skill Inscription for the herbs. In total the Ore/Herb ratio is pretty even.

Browse to

Open with any txt editor

"realtime.reload.interval", 6, 60, 1, "Reload interval: %s seconds"

Change 6 to 1

set delay in Auctioneer Gui to 1 (slider now goes down to 1 instead of default 6 secs interval)

Good idea used to use an auction bot for this kind of stuff, a tip: using an alt with alt characters might help lol.

Awesome guide, but you are definitely right when you said it won't always work. As a botter myself a just hold onto my goods if the price drops too far below market avg. rather than mindlessly undercutting everyone.

1. Find out who commonly sells Ore/Herbs using The Undermine Journal
2. Add them to friends list
3. Configure auctioneer, add the common level 80+ ores and herbs to your snatch list for say 50% of normal price
4. Configure real time search in auctioneer
5. Wait for the common sellers to logon
6. Post one of each of the item they usually put up for say 1s/2s
7. Activate the real time search
8. Wait for them to post items, hopefully they will have addons configured to match the lowest current price on AH
9. ????
10. Profit

Typically the persons putting up the most ore/herbs are bank characters for, I would assume, multiple bots and pretty much just want to sell everything as fast as they can, this is why they have set their auctions to always match the lowest current price instead of a set price. And they probably make enough to not care about market swings.

Great post... it is true... the botters do just auto undercut the lowest... I'll often see on my server stacks of whiptail in the hundreds for 10g a stack cause of this lol -- but I never thought to try such low amounts lol This is awesome! +5rep

Thanks, I used to "abuse" this for ores around 20g/stack and herbs around 10g/stack until I decided to try even lower. And now probably close to 40k ores and herbs later I am happy that I did.

Heh, I've seen a couple more do it too on my realm too. I usually let them because they haven't really figured out which of the botters this works on on my realm yet.

Agreed. This only works on botters who doesn't check their addons when posting auctions. Anyone who actually bothers about checking the prices before they put the items up will notice this immediately.

One more thing I'd like to add is that it may be wise to take down your 1s/2s auctions after the botters have logged off. If their not purchased before the next botter logs on, when you might not be on, auctions may be posted that cheap for others to buy - in the long run it may result in less items for you to puchase.

What you do is either drag and drop an item into the box where there is Whiptail on the screenshot, or left click a linked item in the chat for it to appear there. You then set the maximum price you wish to buy that item for. In this case for me it is 50 silver per Whiptail or 10 gold per stack(since I don't limit my purchases to those I can trick into putting them up cheaper it is a bit higher). You can also chose to set it to a percentage of the market price according to auctioneer. Be adviced to have done some full auction house scans over the course of a couple of days to have somewhat accurate pricing data if you set it to a percentage. When you have set the price, simply press "Add item" and it gets added to your snatch list.
