[Firelands] An effective way of soloing Pyrelords as a Fire Mage

Hi there!

I know it's been a while since Firelands solos started, but anyways, I've mage a video guide on how to do it effectively and easily as a Fire Mage!

Introduction:

This is a way where we focus on the big Fire elementals' (Pyrelord) smaller adds, which is basically the most profiting way to solo nowadays. There are a total of 5 Pyrelord packs, and 3 smaller adds at each pack, making a total of 15 small adds.

The video will show you the path where you should kite them and a few more information. (the text goes fast thou, you'll have to pause it for a few seconds, I didn't want them to disturb the kiting area)

If all is done well, you will kill the adds from 3 to 7-8 minutes (depending on luck of combos and combustion) with 1 pyrelord and 15 small elementals dead.

Preparation:

-Get any of the "Minor speed increase" enchants on boots, it will give you +8% walking speed.

-Get Glyph of improved blink

-Never use Blastwave as it slows the little ones, but not the big ones, you want them to Stack! Use Flamestrike instead

-Get Someone with a Firelands save from, or past Shannox

-Engineering Rocket Boots Extreme can help (Beware of the belt enchant, always be sure to have IB ready when you use it as it may backfire)

Edit: Yes, a hunter can easily do it with aspect of the pack!

As far as I know DKs use Mass slow, the thing at this is, that you can't slow the big adds, but maybe with the movement speed increase you can do it!

I got question... Can i solo some trash as ROGUE? (i can swap to any spec) Good gear. But i think they nerf drop on hotfix didnt they?

Tuesdays hotfixes:

Combustion should no longer ignore damage modifiers on a target. As an example, Smoldering Elemental packs in the Firelands should no longer take full damage from Impact’s spread of Combustion, despite these creatures having damage reduction modifiers.

Not entirely...
You see, if you nuke a Pyrelord fast, like I do in the video, they will lose their protective shield and get that AoE instead.
So now you just have to DPS down the pyrelord to 70-50% then it will break the little adds' shield.

Its ofcourse not fixed. now you need just some more time.
And it works pretty fine as sv hunter, takes 8min's in 10man with 15mobs loot & 25min with 22mobs loot.
Made this weekend about 750k Gold. Droprate is pretty fine.

The method I used broke each of the adds' shields in 1-2 mins, so with this "hotfix", it would take from 5 mins -now with the fix- to 7 mins.
But going to do it tomorrow anyways

BTW some more side info for other classes: The Mobs run around 107-108% speed, so with the leg enchant and/or any passive class aura that gives like 15% plus running speed should be fine if you kite them right!
