    Jewelcrafting goldmine in near future

Hey, I'm an old member that hasn't really done much in posting but I would like to share this idea with the community. I did a search on all tags relevant to the idea and found nothing but outdated threads.

The idea is, almost every jewelcrafter is farming the daily tokens to quickly scramble for the recipes to sell on the AH. The thing is, they are wasting these tokens. Why might you ask?

Lets say a month from now Blizzard opens new content and the Jewelcrafting vendor opens up the ability to craft epic gems. There will be a massive rush to farm the dailies and buy one or two recipes that competitors don't have.

    Why rush?

If you farm your JC tokens from now, you are able to buy out all the epic recipes the moment it hits the stores, landing you a massive lead above the other JC'ers on your faction/server for a good number of days. A monopoly on the highest end JC crystals available that will have everyone buying from mainly you.

Start farming them now, don't spend your points on soon to be useless blue gems

This is what every jewelcrafter, who has the most wanted recipes, is doing.

Has anyone else been doing it or putting it up on this forum? I garuntee you will catch people off their guard for the first few days when you have the epic recipes and they don't. Common sense indeed but not common enough for xxarthasdklolxx to plan ahead.

Good tip! Didn't think about this. Iv'e bought the gem recipes i needed, and given some thought on what formula to buy next time. Iv'e bought 7 so far, and three of them are useless in forms of profit.

In general i don't think alot of players actually thinks about this. After all, i havn't thought about it.. and i'm just like any other dude with jc :-)

Epic gems were not released until the 2nd content patch of both BC and WoTLK... 1 month is not the correct amount of time.

But even Ulduar (3.1) came out 5 months after Wrath (3.0). I'd say we have enough time.

Still good enough amount of time to start stockpiling the points. Who knows if it will be 5 JC tokens or 10.

Also, to say "Common sense" on the topic doesn't really make sense. If you're speeding down the highway and someone tells you to slow down, do you say common sense and keep speeding?

Maybe couse ppl dont want to share it so more ppl on there server do the same. So you can be the top jewelcrafter and take alot of fee for a gem that only you got.
Have been doing this from the start after I bought the gems I needed and I do the same for pyrites ore, save so I can prospect later. Saving the blue to transmute to.

Let's not go off on a tangent.

Why buy every blue quality recipe the vendor sells? What would that yield? There's no achievement associated with learning every recipe from the Jewel-crafting Trainer; at least not that I know of.

Common sense dictates that one would either save the tokens for something better; most likely from a future patch or from selling the tokens off as a Chimera's Eye.

I honestly have doubts that we'll be getting new epic gems. Chimaera's Eyes are epic quality. The stats on the new gems are double the WotLK epic cuts. Idk. My opinion.

    Agree.
    • In WotLk blizzard gave us epics for running hc's and epic gems.
    • In Cata blizzard gives us blue heroic for running hc's and blue gems.

    catching on to my point?

    This is completely irrelevant information.

During the first content level of WOTLK, end bosses of the heroics still dropped epics, and the best gems available were blue. The epic gems will come, but don't expect them until the next content tier.
