I like to run MC every reset or so for some nostalgia fun and for gold (cores, epic BoEs, and Formula: Enchant Weapon - Spellpower - Item - World of Warcraft which I got last 2 runs, sold 1 for 5k... still have other). I used to just do easy bosses and skipped the ones I failed at on the first try, but today I decided to clear the whole place, took about 3 1/2 hours. A lot of this stuff can be basic, but its mainly for the newbie pally that has yet to realize their true soloing potential.
Trash and buffs:
I clear everything with the exception of the packs that don't need to be cleared right before Shazzrah, I don't like those packs! Everything has the potential to drop epic BoEs and cores. Also, you may have some luck with the Essence of Earth - Item - World of Warcraft or Essence of Fire - Item - World of Warcraft on your server... they don't do too well on mine.
Keep Sacred Shield up during large trash pulls and all the time during bosses, helps more than you can imagine. I keep Seal of Command (SoC) on during trash and bosses with adds that need to die. I use Fire resist aura with everything with the except of a couple bosses. I use greater blessing of wisdom and judge wisdom to limit downtime, sitting down and drinking every few pulls sucks. Be certain to keep Divine Plea on every cooldown (1 minute). Assume I'm using these buffs if I don't specify. I always pull using Hand of Reckoning - Spell - World of Warcraft, its low mana cost, decent range (30 yards) and good dps potential (I get upwards of 8k crits) make it worth your while.
All the Trash are fairly cut and dry with the exception of Firelords which cast Soul Burn - Spell - World of Warcraft, you get silenced which can be a pain if you are pulling multiple mobs. Thankfully, Divine storm and crusader strike are not spells.. so you aren't left with nothing.
Lucifron/Magmadar trash:
These core hound packs must be taken down at the same time. I use SoC and drop a Consecration. I target one at a time and get them to 20k or so each tabbing through them all... usually only takes a couple attacks to get them there after the first 1 or 2. After they all drop... WAIT do not do what I did... I'm very impatient and pulled another group. Guess what happend? They popped back up. It is entirely too difficult to get 2 packs down at the same time. Just wait for them to despawn. I clear the first 2 packs then pull Lucifron.
Lucifron:
Ok, first and foremost his curse Lucifron's Curse - Spell - World of Warcraft this will ruin your day if you don't pay attention to how much mana you are using. I use SoC (I judge wisdom due to the debuff) and kill adds first. After adds die hes cake... just watch the debuff, if you are near death, bubble (Divine shield) to drop the curse and heal up, don't waste Lay on hands (LoH). Otherwise, this is a cut and dry fight.
Magmadar:
Once again, I'm lazy and skip the last core hound pack on the left of the boss and just pull him back pretty far (he fears fairly often). This fight is simple: stay out of flashy stuff (fire) and be weary of fears. I use Every Man for Himself - Spell - World of Warcraft and bubble if I have to.
Gehennas:
Now, this fight is a pain in the butt. He does a curse, Gehennas' Curse - Spell - World of Warcraft, -75% healing isn't fun. At first I gave up on this one and decided to revisit it with some ideas. I went with Shadow resist aura since he casts Shadow Bolt - Spell - World of Warcraft as his main attack. Now, what I do is kite him... be certain you've cleared the mobs in your kiting path. I do this because he casts rain of fire, which can hurt, and cause unnecessary damage. I use Seal of vengeance (SoV) and switch to Seal of Light (SoL) when my health is getting around 50% and judge light. Don't forget to use The Art of War - Spell - World of Warcraft procs with Flash of Light, this helps a lot. If your heal looks good, just use exorcism.
Kill his adds first, use SoC if you are ok on health. After adds are down, boss goes down easy, watch your health... don't let it get too low. This debuff WILL affect LoH, so... if you are in dire straits.. may want to consider Divine Shield.
Garr:
Drops Bindings of the Windseeker - Item - World of Warcraft! 3% chance.
This boss is fairly simple. I use SoV, you don't want SoC because you want to kill the adds LAST. Why? Because for everyone that dies he gets a buff Frenzy - Spell - World of Warcraft for every one you kill. 9% attack speed stacks up and hurts. You can probably get away will killing them first, but I'm about stuff being easy and having the adds do wimpy damage on me versus the boss, who hits a lot harder, hitting faster... well I'd rather go the easier route. You'll kill a few adds... won't hurt too bad, I still use Divine Storm to keep my health up and judge wisdom. After boss is dead, switch to SoC and drop adds.
Baron Geddon:
Drops Bindings of the Windseeker - Item - World of Warcraft! 4% chance. Got them on my first solo kill!
I keep SoL on during this boss, kinda a lot of damage being taken between Living Bomb - Spell - World of Warcraft and Inferno - Spell - World of Warcraft. I kill the first pack of trash in his path and wait for him, if he just blew by I'll get the next pack. Pull him into the cave you just came out of (from Garr's room) so when he uses Inferno and it knocks you in the air the roof will stop you from taking too much fall damage. When he casts Ignite mana you need to dispel it ASAP, it will own your mana pool fast if you don't notice it. I usually back up a bit when hes casting Inferno - Spell - World of Warcraft to avoid unnecessary damage and heal up if needed.
Shazzrah:
This doesn't need any explanation, but he does a couple annoying things... One is he will Counter spell you if you are healing, this shouldn't be an issue since he doesn't do much for damage. He also casts Shazzrah's Curse - Spell - World of Warcraft which you need to remove after this fight because if you pull the packs in his room they can own you if you aren't paying attention (debuff is 100% magic damage taken and most trash's melee hits are elemental). Remove this by bubbling or waiting it out if you have to, or just be mindful.
Sulfuron Harbinger:
This fight is annoying... I go prot here and it lasts about 10-12 minutes. I keep SoC on for AE damage, drop consecration everytime its up and use any/all AE abilities (avenger shield, hammer of the righteous). I focus on boss while being certain to dispel the Shadow Word: Pain and Immolate that the adds cast on you. The adds will heal themselves and the boss... you need to basically wait it out for them to burn their mana up, which they do somewhat fast if you dispel often enough (it seems they like to keep the debuffs on you, so if you remove them they will burn more mana on you instead of healing). Eventually 8-9 minutes into the fight the adds will start to drop quick then its just you and the boss. Switch to SoV and enjoy easy mode (and your Nexus-Strike if you're lucky!)
Golemagg the Incinerator:
Ok, heres another pain boss fight. I go prot. First off IGNORE the adds, they will not die. Its a waste. Focus on boss. I use SoV and judge light. When Magma Splash - Spell - World of Warcraft gets around 40-50 stacks (or whatever you feel comfortable with handling), quit attacking him and wait out the debuff. This is a good time to heal yourself up. The debuff will go away if you quick attacking and wait it out (bubble if the situation is dire).
Majordomo Executus:
Now that you've killed all the bosses and doused the flames (well not really, they go out on their own now =/) its time for Majordomo. This fight is cake. I went prot here and focused on the adds, you can't actually kill Majordomo. Use SoC and any/all AE attacks and this fight is cake.
Ragnaros!:
Ok, you want to talk about a crappy fight? This one took me 45 minutes to do... yes 45 MINUTES! He has just under 1.1mil health. Today was my first attempt/solo kill. He an aura Melt Weapon - Spell - World of Warcraft, so bring an extra weapon with some health stats to switch to... mine broke, but only once. I had to use a gray sword I picked up... lol. I go prot and switch between SoL, SoW and SoV depending on needs. I usually judge light but I do wisdom when needed. Keep an eye on Divine Plea, don't let it drop! Keep Sacred Shield up and use Holy Shield as much as you can, if you have the mana. Where you stand is incredibly important. He will cast Wrath of Ragnaros - Spell - World of Warcraft which knocks you back pretty far, I posted a pic of where I stood. The idea is you want to land in the lava so you don't take fall damage. This is imperative for survival. Be certain to stand around the center of the island you're on, otherwise you'll hit land when you fall

Every 3 minutes he will submerge and summon 8 adds... they are cake. I use this time to regain mana/health before he pops back up. Be careful not to hold out too long, he will pop back up before they all die.
This is all about longevity and survival. If you have good survival skills... you should be set. I used no pots of any kind or resist gear. All pally buffs with the exception of Dragonfin Filet - Item - World of Warcraft for a little extra health (its all I had on me). He will occasionally knock you back multiple times in a row... its more annoying than anything. The buffs you see in the pics are what I had.
Well, I never thought I'd actually see the day where I'd solo a 40 man.. but here it is. My pally has about a 251-264 average ilevel (~5.9k GS) in ret and about 245 average ilevel in prot (~5.4k+ GS). I quit raiding a few months ago and haven't seen ICC since... SO, I have all this free time. Hope this was helpful to someone... Any constructive criticism is welcome. Any suggestions for easier ways are very much welcomed, I will try them out next reset and change strats and give you credit if it was considerably helpful. Be gentle, it took me some time to write this all out. Don't hate on my UI either, I know its lame. I haven't touched it in months and I'm missing some mods and need to rearrange stuff.
I'm working on AQ40 right now and have Battleguard Sartura down. Trash is tricky.
