Quicker Weapon Skill

I made a quick search to see if this had been posted and didn't find anything so here it goes.
I have used this trick for a while for leveling my weapon skills.
Basically all you need to do is get gear that has lots of intellect (equip it ofc), then equip the weapon you want to level the skill in. It seems that the more intellect the character has, the quicker you obtain the weapon skill. Hope this helped some of you out there that didn't know about this.

I was under the impression this was removed around 2.0 or so. It used to be in the tooltip even and they took it out.

idk it still worked for me when i did it on my paladin.


oh and i didn't know it was in the tooltip until patch 2.0 since i started playing wow after Ulduar came out, but i hope this helped someone who didn't know about it.

Intellect DOES still improve the speed at wich you level your weapon skill..

It WAS on the tooltip of intellect untill patch 2.0 when they removed it, however it still gives the bonus.

# Increases the rate at which weapon skills are learned. Before patch 2.0 this was listed in the tooltip, but it was removed after that. Despite this, tests show that intellect still increases the rate of skillups. If you want to level a weapon skill, asking for an Intellect buff, or using a scroll never hurts.
