Proto Drake "Farming" in Storm Peaks
Hello all! I'm going to be short and brief for this guide. This guide will give you an easier time in farming the rare spawns of: Time-Lost Proto Drake - NPC - World of Warcraft , Dirkee - NPC - World of Warcraft & Vyragosa - NPC - World of Warcraft .
Well in Storm Peak's there are THREE rare spawns . All, mobs drop cool items! One mob drops a proto drake! What's so cool about a proto drake? Well:
- They are extremely rare and you can show them off. Doesn't fly at 310% (Thanks Lyndis)
- They are collection items and these will make you stand out from the other players!
- They look super cool!
Here is a pic of the drake!
There are several ways on farming these rare spawns. Which will hopefully lead to your proto drake!
Method One
1. Download _NPCScan - Addons - Curse (click) - This addon tracks rare mobs.
This isn't only useful for farming the rare spawns in Storm Peaks! This addon scans for all of the rare mobs! So you don't have to worry about those /target macros!
2. Start flying around in Storm Peaks. Here is a map with the spawns on them and I decided to customize it a bit.
The GREEN Dots are where Dirkee has been known to spawn.
The RED Dots are where Vyragosa has been known to spawn.
THE BLUE Dots are for your Time-Lost Proto Drake!
3. The spawn time's for these mobs aren't known. As far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong) they are completely random! Hopefully you have a gathering profession or some good music to listen to while you are farming these bad boys!
4. Keep yourself amused. You don't wanna get bored and miss out on these cool spawns.
Method Two
This method is for those of us who do not like a ton of addons. This is just a simple macro that you can use. So, here is the macro we will be using.
That is a simple target macro that will make your focus be one of those mobs, if they spawn!Code:/tar Time-Lost /tar Dirk /tar Vyra
1. Type /macro - Copy and paste the code I've provided (above)
2. Fly around Storm Peaks: The same route will do. While you spam that macro. An easy way is to bind the macro to something easy. ie. 1 , 2, 3. I've even heard people who have bound it to their mouse wheel.
3. Turn on some tunes and start camping those spots!
Conclusion
I hope you have found this guide successful and hopefully you get what you are looking for!
If you are one of the lucky ones to get this mount, PLEASE PLEASE, post in this thread! A screen shot would be nice too!
Thanks again and have a wonderful day!
