    Sprays guide to making paper

Tired of being a leecher as I have found much worthwhile info from this site and I felt that a in depth guide was needed on the concept of money making

DISCLAIMER: This guide is long and sometimes winded and mostly common sense****. I wanted to give its readers every opportunity to make their money pit. Also i realize there may be many mistakes/things left out. I will look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow and clean it up a bit. View footnote for common sense

Tips to farming and the AH

REMEMBER TO DO YOU WG DAILIES WHEN THEY ARE UP. Between the honor gained from them and the honor gained from the stone keeper shards you can amass 2 gems. Thats an easy 300g uncut.

As a farmer who does all his work by hand, no bots used in this regard, i have learned that my time and effort need to be rewarded. Many people randomly toss items on the AH without caring or having the knowledge that item X that they placed on the AH for 20g was selling at 40g two days earlier.

Make friends with your customers. Most people neglect to see who bought there stuff. If you have a guy who always buys you mining ore off the AH... whisper him and inform him that you can CoD everything to him for a cheaper price. By doing this not only do you have a guaranteed buyer but at a slightly cheaper price hes likely to buy more of said item.

The best AH tip i can offer is know your market. Know what sells and what doesn't and when. Raids reset on tuesdays, main raid guids start at anytime between 5:30pm server and 7:30pm server.

"But Spray what does that mean?"

It means get your flasks/pots/food/gems/enchanting bullshit ETC on before raids start. Many guilds make posts on the WoW realm forums stating their raid times. Try to average the times and place your items in the market before they start.

"Well spray i farm for 3 hours, i get herb stacks/mining ore/frostweave/WOTLK enchanting mats or w/e, will i make as much gold as you do?"

Not even close. Some people say that specializing is the way to go, to me that is limiting gold making potential. Also, farming requires more time than anything else. Personally with my unemployment and recent personal issues i now farm a minimum of 5 hours a day. (I'll get to what i farm later.)

"So after i farm i should sell immediately on the AH right?"

WRONG! As i combed through the threads here i found many people who say that they wait til X time of the week to sell. While i agree with this i prefer to hoard everything i farm over the course of a week and then seep it out through the AH and trade over the course of the next week. Timing is everything

"Many people say don't flood the market, is this correct?"

Many people also elected George Bush president...was this correct? Flooding the market is something that you should do when the occasion calls for it.

E.G. A week ago i was sorting through my 40 some odd stacks of Arcane dust.
The market high on my server is usually 4g per dust. I noticed the market had around 15 stacks or so dust on it (sold as singles mind you) and that they were 4 50g a pop and sold by my competitors. I flooded the market with every dust i had dropping down to 1g 75s a piece and waited 20 mins. I lost a total of 20 dust in this time however a rescan showed that my competitors all dropped their prices to 1g 30s. I bought out every dust they dropped and resold it back at the 5g per canceling my own auctions in the process. Amazingly within 16 hours the 48 of my now 55 stacks had sold, gaining me much profit.

"Well spray you've given some decent tips on the AH but what should i farm to be diverse?

Ah this is where the listing begins.

Firstly people underestimate the value of old world enchanting mats, which are now used on heirloom weps.

Easy old world mats to farm

    Essence of air
Used in: Enchant 2H Weapon Agility and Enchant Weapon Agility Spell

BEST PLACE TO FARM: North slithus. Mob- Dust stormer.

These bad boys i have farmed since the endless argent dawn rep in vanilla. They also drop Elemental Air and occasionally a Breath of wind.

Farmed these for a half hour and got 21 Essences 6 Elemental airs and 4 breaths.

Essences sell for 40g a piece on my server.

Spawn location: Dust Stormer - NPC - World of Warcraft

    Righteous Orb

Used in: Enchant Weapon - Crusader

This mat is really a common sense thing to farm. Drops in Live Strat. Sells for about 30-35g per and you get around 3 per run. Best to farm as an enchanter seeing as you can also DE the boss lewts for a slight added profit. You can also get quite the amount of runecloth and Essence of Undeath.

    Golden Pearl

Used in: Enchant Weapon - Spellpower

These little devils are quite a pain to farm. After sifting through WoWhead/thottbot comments i determined the cave in Feralas to be the best spot. Testing the spot gave me a headache. Pro tip don't open the big mouth clams immediately when you get them, you will get easily discouraged.

After 3 hours of farming this hole i got Zesty clam meat x 398
Black Pearl x 9 Golden pearl x 4 and a handful of greens.

Golden pearls are tricky on the AH. Price drops to 40g per and when all those are gone you can easily sell for 250g per.

    Maps - World of Warcraft

The mobs spawn really fast here, faster then any location i have tested.

Now that i have gone through old world mats i will go through powerlvling mats. Many people level alts with a disregard for proffessions until said alt is eighty and then they powerlvl it via the AH. This is a comprehensive list of easy to farm commonly used mats as obtained from the WoW powerlving professions guide on the forums =)

Core of Earth/Heart of fire/Breath of Wind

    Used by: Blacksmithing.

Where to farm? Breath of Wind can be snagged while farming Essence of Air as can core of earth since the mobs that drop them spawn in a loop with the dust stormers. Heart of fire can be snagged in un goro on the giant lava mountain of doom in the center.

    Mageweave cloth

    Used by: Blacksmithing/tailoring/first aid.

Not gonna bother making a farm spot as you can low level instance this shit.

    Flask of Mojo:

    Used by: Jewelcrafting.

Everyone wants to have a JC and 60 flask of mojos are required to cheaply advance JCing...

Where to farm: ZF hands down. You can snag almost a stack of these per clear plus random gear drops.

    Heart of the Wild:

Used by: JCing and some tailoring.

I added some tailoring to this b/c many tailors of lower levels make the dreamweave gear to wear.

    Where to farm: DM east...DUH!

    Runecloth

It takes 900 runecloth roughly according to Sixens thread on the forums to advance tailoring.

Best place to farm: These can be snagged during your Live strat runs/BRD runs or if you are speed running ramparts as suggested by Gfour.

    Link to gfours ramps thread:

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...-ramparts.html (700g/h Hellfire Ramparts)

    Black diamond

    Used by: Jcing

This isn't included as a powerlvl mat but i decided to include it here. You can make a pretty penny selling this bad boys as they are a huge part of cheapening JCing.

where to farm: BRD BRD BRD

If you are an enchanter this run becomes highly profitable. Kill Interrogator/Roccor/Houndmaster/Ring Boss/Pyromancer/Baelgar and all the trash you can find between them.

Managed to snag an easy 2 stacks in maybe 3 runs...plus the fiery enchant drop off pyromancer in addition to runecloth/dark iron scraps/small brilliant shards.

    Farming Outland Mats

Outland mat farming is profitable for certain people and a waste for others.

Things to farm (based on profession) most of these are common sense.

Fel iron- Shit is everywhere like herpes. Sells for a decent amount and you can snag a large supply in a few quick circuits of your zone of choice. Plus you can sell the primals you get for a slight bit of cash.

Arcane dust/large prismatic shards/greater planar essence:

These should be sold for two reasons. Reason A.) powerleveling enchanting sucks donkey balls and you never can get too many mats. B.) Mongoose is still a top end enchant /endofdiscussion

Pro tip: For easy Greater Planars go to Halaa (if your faction has it) and visit Coriel <Blade Merchant>. She sells an item called The sharp cookie for 2g 21s 42c. Buy each of these one at a time and DE them. If you're lucky you'll snag 5 greater planars. Respawns are around forty minutes i believe.

Knothide Leather: Takes around 380 to level LW. THATS ALOT LOT LOT.
Also used by tailors for netherweave boots.

Herbing... Farm w/e you can find. Inscription/Alchemy. Nothing real specific here.

A tip for WOTLK frostweave farmers. Many hail Scholzar as the end all spot for frostweave cloth. HOWEVER i will give you a better one. In Zul Drak... at the spot where you had to clear the trolls and snag the 3 different treasures...ok you dont remember? hmmmm..

    INC MAP

    Maps - World of Warcraft

Farming for one hour here i amassed 6 stacks of frostweave, multiple greens, around 50g in greys, and about 10 Healing/mana pots.

You could change the purple'ish and dark red text colors at the top cause I had to highlight it to be able to read it

On topic: Good to know if you didn't, ;-)
