Okay guys, so we all know that to make WoW movies, you need a few things.
- Fraps (If you want longer vids, you need to purchase it/get a crack)
- Lots of Hard drive space (Fraps vids are HUGE)
- A _very_ good PC if you want any sort of good FPS while fraps'ing
Do you really need those?
No!
The new alternative: WeGame
It is:
- free
- compresses its videos to save space
- has almost no impact on performance
Step-by-step guide:
- Download the latest version of WeGame.
- Execute the file
- Install WeGame
- When asked to, create an account.
- What e-mail you enter here doesn't matter. It can be [email protected] or anything you wish. You won't be using this later.
- If the setup complains about sound input devices, ignore it. The sound support is still bugged on most OS.
- Setup your key bindings (the assistant should do this for you)
- Enter WoW. You will see a small green indicator in the top left corner of WoW. This means that WeGame is not recording.
- Press your record hotkey to start recording. The indicator should disappear.
- Press your record hotkey again to stop recording. The indicator reappears and the video now shows up in WeGame.
Notes:
- If you want the video to have sound, simply edit the boss quotes in later
- (You can extract them from your MPQ files. They are in the Sound/Creature/ directory)
- WeGame by default starts in the windows task bar on startup.
- If you exit WeGame's task app while WoW is open, WoW will close aswell.
- When you close the WeGame window, it still remains in your task bar.
I hope this guide helped you.
regards,
stolenlegacy
