    [Winter Veil]Complete Guide For "Merrymaker"

    Buffy's Complete Winter Veil Guide!

Greetings MMOwned! I am now here with my latest release, a complete guide based on
the world event Winter Veil! It may be a bit earlie you say, to post a thread
regarding Winter Veil now, but some people like to get prepared so they can get it done
fast and in time to get the whole achievement done. This guide will mainly be based for horde, but a lot of
the achievements you require to get "Merrymaker" which is this seasonal event main achievement,
are the same for the alliance. I will explain where you need to go, what to do in order to
complete the different achievements, and also how to do this the most efficient way.

There is 12 achievements you need to do, to complete "Merrymaker", but 1 achievement you don't need to do but can do. There is also discussion around the "Crashin' & Thrashin" achievement, this is a part of the 12 achievements that used to be required to get the meta achievement completed, but on MMOchampion there is discussion around this achievement, some claim it will not be needed this year! All the achievements you need will be in a list bellow, and will go in that succession further down, where I will explain
    each achievement closer.

    1. "On Metzen!"
    2. "Scrooge"
    3. "'Tis the Season"
    4. "Simply Abominable"
    5. "Bros. Before Ho Ho Ho's"
    6. "He Knows If You've Been Naughty"
    7. "With a Little Helper from My Friends"
    8. "Fa-la-la-la-Ogri'la"
    9. "Crashin'& Thrashin'"
    10."Let It Snow"
    11."The Winter Veil Gourmet"
    12."A Frosty Shake"

    1. "On Metzen!"

To complete this achievement you need to complete the quest "Metzen the Raindeer". The quest
can be obtained from Kaymard Copperpinch in Orgrimmar. In 2008 you could find Metzen the Raindeer
in Tanaris (Kalimodor). He is inside a cave (entrance; 68,41) you will find him in the middle of the villaga, at a tiny stable.
You can also find him in Searing Gorge (Eastern Kingdoms) cords; 70.33. When you find him you simply use the quest item located in your bag on him to complete the quest,
and then go back to Kaymard Copperpinch in Orgrimmar and deliver it.

    2. "Scrooge"

Pretty simple and straight forth achievement. For this achievement you need to throw a snowball
at Cairne Bloodhoof, he is found in Thunder Bluff at between 58.4, 51.1. In order to
obtain snowballs, you can either go pick them up in Alterac Valley or simply buy them of
Seersa Copperpinch in Thunder Bluff at 41.9, 55.1.

    3. "'Tis the Season"

This achievement takes a bit more time, and a bit more patience. In order to complete this
achievement you need to eat Graccu's Mince Meat Fruitcake while wearing 3 pieces of winter clothing.
Graccu's Mince Meat Fruitcake can be obtained by either completing quests for Grandfather Winter
or completing the freeing metzen chain-quest. You will recive the cake through gifts you get
in mail after a while. The 3 pieces of winter clothing is; Hat, Clothes and Boots.

Green Hat / Red Hat: These are confirmed to drop of Mage-Lord Urom in The Occulus, and from
Grand Magus Telestra in The Nexus. Also, a little handy tip is that this does not need to be
done on Heroic Difficult, but can also be obtained from the loot in Normal Difficulty.

Green Clothes / Red Clothes: These are crafted by Tailoring. The required skill to make the
pants is 250 and can be learned by "Pattern: Green Winter Clothes" sold by Penney Copperpinch
in Orgrimmar located at 52.8, 64.8. The item craft requires; Bolt of Runecloth x4, Bolt of Woolen Cloth x1,
Green Dye x2 and Rune Thread x1.

Winter Boots: These are crafted by Letherworking. The required skill to make the boots is 285
and can be learned by "Pattern: Winter Boots". The pattern should be recieved in mail during the
Winter Veil, and the item craft requires; Copper Bar x1, Bolt of Woolen Cloth x1, Rugged Leather x4 and
    Rune Thread x1.

    4. "Simply Abominable"

In order to complete this achievement you need to complete a three quest long quest-chain starting with "Stolen Winter Veil Treats".
This quest is obtained from Kaymard Copperpinch in Orgrimmar cords; 52.6, 66.3. After you've picked up the quest simply go to
Alterac Mountains, to cords; 35.2, 72.0. There will be a snowman called "Strange Snowman", deliver the quest to him and pick up
the next quest "You're a Mean One...". This is where the patience taking part starts. On this achievement you need to kill
"The Abominable Greench", which is haunted by both alliance and horde during the Winter Veil. He is a level 39 elite, and is
easy soloable by a 80, and his most common spawn cord is; 39.4, 63.0. Kill him and get the quest item "Stolen Treats", get
back to Orgrimmar and deliver it to Kaymard Copperpinch. The last quest in the chain is "A Smokywood Pastures' Thank you", pretty
simple talk to Grandfather Winter and you're done.

    5. "Bros. Before Ho Ho Ho's"

Easy peasy achievement. You need to the item "Mistletoe" on Brother Malach, located in Undercity at 50.1, 22.6, on
Durkot Wolfbrother located in Warsong Hold at 40.4, 54.8 and on Brother Keltan located on a airship flying counterclockwise
over Icecrown. In order to obtain the "Mistletoe" item you need simpy type /kiss on a Winter Reveler, which can be located
    at any Inn.

    6. "He Knows If You've Been Naughty"

Simple achievement, but usually a lot of confusion around it during christmas. On this achievement you
need to open a present underneath the Winter Veil / Christmas Tree, the presents are aviable from
the morning of 25. december and until 2. january.

Ps; No matter what you hear, these are the exact dates, trust me. I've been through this a lot of other times.

    7. "With a Little Helper from My Friends"

Yet another easy achivement during the Winter Veil. Simply transform yourself into a gnome
by standing inside the PX-238 Winder Wondervolt machine a couple of seconds. This machine is
located serveral places, outside Orgimmar, east of Gadgetzan at the zepplin towers outside Undercity,
and probably a lot of other areas, I used the one outside Orgimmar for the most. But back to the point,
as soon as you've transformed into a gnome the point of the achievement is to get 50 honorable kills.
This is easy done by joining a Wintergrasp Battle and usually any battleground, no matter what
    battlegroup you're server belongs to.

    8. "Fa-la-la-la-Ogri'la"

Now this achievement you should probably start on straight away. This achievement can take a bit
time, since you need to do Ogri'la daily quests. Go to Ogri'la and pick up all dailyes you can
go do them, it's a long chain-quest of twelve quests before you get the actual quest for the
achievement "Bomb Them Again!". I've heard that people claim there is a tiny exploit, allowing
you to complete this quest without using the reindeer mount, as long as you remember to put
on a Preserved Holy (can be obtained from quests during the Winter Veil, transforms your mount into
a reindeer) as long as you transform your mount into a reindeer before you deliver it. I suggest
that if you do not understand what to do on this achievement you send me a personal messege.

    9. "Crashin'& Thrashin'"
NOTE; May not be needed this year, check out MMOchampion for more info / keep an eye on this thread!

Here you need to get twenty-five crashes with your Crashin'Thrashin'Racer. What you do is
you crash in other Crashin'Thrashin'Racer's. This item is obtained through gifts from beneath the Winter Veil Tree.
The gifts can be gathered and opened from the morning of the 25. december and until the 2. january.

    10."Let It Snow"

Here you need to use the item "Handful of Snowflakes" on specific race's / classe's. The item you need can be obtained through using /kiss on any Winter Revelers which can be located in Inn's.

    List of race's / classe's:
    Orc Death Knight
    Blood Elf Warlock
    Undead Rogue
    Tauren Shaman
    Troll Hunter
    Gnome Mage
    Human Warrior
    Night Elf Druid
    Dwarf Paladin
    Draenei Priest

    Total "Handful of Snowflakes": 10

    11."The Winter Veil Gourmet"

This is one of the cooking achievements we face in a lot of the seasonal event's in World of Warcraft.
You need to make Gingerbread Cookie, Egg Nog and Hot Apple Cider.

    Gingerbread Cookie:
Recipe: Gingerbread Cookie (Requires skill 1) obtained from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar
Requires; Small Egg x1(Eversong Woods, kill Feral Dragonhawk)
Holiday Spices x1 (Bought from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar)

    Egg Nog:
Recipe: Egg Nog (Requires skill 35) obtained from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar
Requires; Small Egg x1(Eversong Woods, kill Feral Dragonhawk)
Ice Cold Milk x1 (Bought from Innkeeper in capital cities)
Holiday Spirits x1 (Bought from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar)
Holiday Spices x1 (Bought from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar)

    Hot Apple Cider:
Recipe: Hot Apple Cider (Requires skill 325) obtained from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar
Requires; Sparkling Apple Cider x1 (Bought from Keymard Copperpinch in Orgrimmar)
Holiday Spirits x1 (Bought from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar)
Holiday Spices x1 (Bought from Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar)

    Total mats:
    Small Egg x2
    Holiday Spices x3
    Sparkling Apple Cider x1
    Holiday Spirits x2
    Ice Cold Milk x1

    12."A Frosty Shake"

In this achievement you need to use "Winter Veil Disguise Kit" to become a snowman, and when you are disguised as a snowman type /dance while targeting another snowman!

The item required for this achievement, "Winter Veil Disguise Kit" is obtained via mail, after completing the quest-chain for "You're a Mean One..." and deliverd it. The time it will take for you to recive the mail can be anything from ten to twenty hours. I've heard some people can actually be unlucky and not obtain it, something with a number bla, bla, bla.. But the chances are so small, it's unlikely it will happen, so don't be afraid.

This is the first complete guide I've ever made about any achievement, and I am doing this first of all to make it easier for you to obtain the "Merrymaker" achievement and get the title "Merrymaker". But also because I am tired of leeching of here, because it's not fair. People may like and may not
like this guide, but I do hope I've done some pleased. You will see more of my work in the future, but for now this is all I can do. Please give me positive and negative replies on this, so I can learn by my misstakes. Also, if you have any questions I have not answered in this guide, feel free to send me a personal messege and I will be pleased to help you!

For now, I bid you farewell and wish you good luck with getting your title and achievement!

    Sincerely
    - Buffy!

Well, no. It doesn't start at December 25th, it starts at December 15th. But from December 25th - January 2nd you can obtain different items you need like the Crashin'Thrashin'Racer you need for the achievement "Crashin'& Thrashin'"

These items can be obtained underneath the Winter Veil Tree, inside gifts you can loot.

Well, as I mentioned in the beginning of the guide, this is mainly for horde, but still some of the achievements have the same requirements for alliance.
Right now, I do not have time to do a alliance version, but do some research of yourself, and you'll probably find some nice information. "Google is your friend"

Well, these kind of guides come out this earlie because some people actually want to get prepered and ready with all they need. I made this guide to help you, and did my best, if you don't like it, don't even bother writing a reply.

-Blink-: Not sure if you tried to "back me up" but atleast thanks

Nice guide, and as vodkaboy said above, they are making it that you don't need Crashin' & Thrashin for the meta anymore.
