    3.3 --> Crystallized Shadow / Earth | Engineering gold

Another set of patch notes and another 2 items that it's worth getting your eyes on now!

In 3.3 there will be 2 new types of ammo for hunters, they are marked as 91.5 dps (and increase of 24 dps over the current best in game). These will be made by engineers (another potential good money maker for engineers).

What do they require? Well apparently:

Iceblade Arrow Reagents: Crystallized Shadow x 2
Shatter Rounds Reagents: Crystallized Earth x 2

Although I woudn't be suprised if the mats change slightly in quantity.

These items are likely to go up in value because of this.

It is also worth noting the impact this will have on the demand for saronite ore as thousands of hunters/engineers stop buying it.

Note. Earlier in the week a guide was posted for crystallized shadow farming:

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...adow-farm.html

Good luck and happy gold hunting!

    Update:

Well the plans are out for the ammo!

    Plans: Iceblade Arrow
    Binds when picked up
    Requires Engineering (450)
    Requires Gnomish Engineer
Requires The Ashen Verdict - Honored
Teaches you how to create Iceblade Arrows.

    Plans: Shatter Rounds
    Binds when picked up
    Requires Engineering (450)
    Requires Goblin Engineer
Requires The Ashen Verdict - Honored
Teaches you how to create Shatter Rounds.

So it seems the bullets/arrows are split over gnomish/goblin engineers and require reputation for the crafter as well - Although Honored doesn't seem very much.

Adds a twist to these items that might make them more profitable.

I don't often reply to posts like this but I'm in the mood today.

Firstly, yes I would imagine most people on these forums do read mmo champ, but I also imagine we all read a lot of other stuff too. Not everybody always takes note of every single - minor point in the game. You may personally read every last letter, but this doesn't follow through to everyone.

Secondaly, mmo champ purely states 2 new ammos have been added to the game. It does not state the specifics of these ammos and where they rank compared to other ammos. If a new spell power flask was to come into the game today I would have no idea if it is better/worse than the current spell power flasks (if they exist at all) because I have no interest in them.

I'm pretty confident not every person in the game knows the specifics of hunter arrows and what's best. "But if their new they're bound to be best?" Not so, reputation ammo has long rained superior to none reputation ammo in certain phases of WoW. As such just because a new craftable arrow/bullet is realised it does not mean it is the best. I have shown the comparison of the current ammo to the new to save people the job.

Thirdly I have added the farming link for one of the mats, not a big deal but still an addition to help complete the process.

Fourth, the impact this change will have on saronite ore may well be large, I'm sure not every single miner knows that saronite sells so much due to the demand for ammo from hunters. Personally I can buy 250+ bars a week from the AH and I'm just one small person, this change will greatly effect saronite sell rates.

Finally. At present the craftable ammo in game can be good money, I can happily make 100 gold a day off crafting them just by AH listings. It takes no time and brings in a small but regular income. I also compete with other players who are doing the same thing. This new ammunition will obviously impact this greatly, it will change prices of the 2 raw ingredients on the AH and as such is worth mentioning.

You may personally be able to see "oh 2 new items" on mmo champ and perfectly understand the impact these will have in game, their purpose, how the shadow / earth prices will rise, how saronite demand will drop, the volumes that will sell and the change in demand for engineers but not every person is.

    Thank you for your response

My guess is that the Goblin-Version will be valued much higher, Only because from what I understand EVERYONE tends to be gnomish engineer, And currently it is not possible to swtich specializations without Unlearning the proffesion and starting from scratch

"Almost everyone" dont have gnomish engineering. The reason is that most of the people are leveling it now, when they dont have to pick while leveling it.

You can switch without unlearning eng :/ Just go at Steamweelle port in Tanaris, there is a lil house where you can find a book, "Soothsaying for Dummies". With this you should be able to switch specialization for 150g

    Really is this true?
I have been searching everywhere without finding this. Wowhead and Wowiki and Thottbot and Alakhazam all say that you have to start from scratch!
Will try this later when I have time and if it works +Rep
    Can anyone confirm this btw?

I did it a few days ago, you just have to read the book two times and it works perfectly.

    Can't post screens yet ;<
