I know this is a long thread, but to anyone that is serious about account trading, I think this thread will be helpful in many ways!! I hope you read through it and take away from it at least something new and useful.
A Little Bit About Myself:
I have been trading World of Warcraft accounts for the last five years, mainly on forum websites like Markee, Isohunt, Keyhunt, etc. I started off botting and selling accounts with the use of glider, back when selling level 60 charaters was extremely profitable. I Initially joined MMowned to see what the new scammers were up to – I wanted to learn from you guys, so that I would be careful to know when I was being scammed or not.
Nowadays, glider is dead, gold is not worth farming, and characters are worth a fraction of what they use to sell for. And as of late my lucky has just been awful; I have had account recalls, paypal issues, and multiple scammers with my recent transactions. I realize it’s time for me to retire from this business but I wanted to share some extremely important things I have learned in the past five years of trading.
About MarkeeDragon, and other trading websites
1.Never assume someone with a lot of positive reputation is trustworthy. Have you ever wondered how a company that sells accounts can keep a positive rep of +100 and have 0 negative reps? In the world of business, even the best companies are likely to make errors occasionally. So how do these account selling giants on Markee have a perfect record? The truth is, some of them sponsor Markee’s and help Markee pay their monthly bills, and others have their way with Admins. If a reputable account seller gets a negative reputation from someone insignificant, they can easily get that person banned and their negative rep removed… But more importantly, this means that these account sellers can and will make mistakes; if you post your sob story of how the account they sold to you was locked, good luck having anyone believe you.
2.In order to get some decent amount of reputation on these trading sites, do what I did in the beginning: I took a bunch of old game accounts, CD keys, and basically anything I could offer and started trading them. Put some time into it and you’d be amazed that people will want your old things! You could also buy WoW CD Key’s and Timecards at a bulk price and sell them, but that involves money. After awhile you will be on your way to having a decent amount of reputation.
3.It is MUCH better to trade with people than account websites. You will always find better and cheaper deals if you take the time. It’s not hard – there are thousands of guides out there that will teach you all the precautions to trading accounts. In my opinion, the most important one is that you MUST get the person’s landline phone number. A majority of scammers will back off as soon as you ask for their number… Scammers are easy to spot out, finding the right accounts is the hardest part (mainly because there are so many to choose from!)
Here is my best bit of advice on account trading protection:
Everyone assumes that the general things like SQA, last name, CDkeys, and photo ID are all you need to recall an account. BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I have had at least 20+ accounts recalled from me in the past. What original owner account users have are Credit Card info and Time Card Info. The best measure of protection you can have as an original owner is purchasing your account upgrades with a credit card directly through the World of Warcraft Management page, or pay a few months of gametime with your credit card. Also, keep any time card codes you’ve used in the past on the account!! This additional information greatly improves the chances that Blizzard will recall your account to you, and best of all credit card info and time card codes are information buyers do not ask for…
More to come... but for now that's what I'll share.
