Very nice gold, v. little effort with AH or /2

Ok so this is a little trick I used to do for a while when I had nothing else to do.

    1. Head over to the AH and buy all the "Shadow Crystal" on the AH for 50 silver or less. Even if it is 49s99c or 50s.

    2. Make sure you have Gem Perfection. If not,

ALLY go to Valgarde (speak to Ounhulo) or Valiance Keep (speak to Alestros),

HORDE go to Warsong Hold (speak to Geba'li) or Vengeance Landing (speak to Carter Tiffens).

    3. Cut you Shadow Crystals into any gem. Theres roughly a 50% chance to get a perfect gem. Now, sell all your gems you cut to a vendor. Normal gems sell for 50s, perfect gems for 1g. Do this in bulk for best results

    4. Ask in trade WTB shadow crystal and buy in bulk too. Add regular miners to friends list and have them COD stuff to you.

    5. /run SendChatMessage("WTB "..select(2,GetItemInfo(36926)).." <50s a piece. Accepting all COD's", "CHANNEL", nil, GetChannelName("Trade - City"))
    This will say:
WTB [Shadow Crystal] <50s a piece. Accepting all COD's
in trade channel. Change the text as you please

    6. ???

    7. Profit!

I like this, it's just a shame that it's only for Jewelcrafters..

Yeah well, you can always ask a JC to do it. Or befriend one and make an autoclicker that crafts them + vendors them (what I did) and give him a small tip or something

    Thanks for this!
I didn't know this actually, i'll maybe try it with my JC!

    +Rep

    EDIT:
Here my stats on the gems i made. I'll update these with Huge Citrine, Bloodstone, and Sun Crystal tonight/tomorow.

    229x [Chalcedony]
    Perfect: 45
    Normal: 184
% that did become perfect: 19,65%
    Price of gems: 114,5g
Gold when sell all gems to vendor: 137g
    Profit: 22,5g

    207x [Dark Jade]
    Perfect: 43
    Normal: 164
% that did become perfect: 20,77%
    Price of gems: 103,5g
Gold when sell all gems to vendor: 125g
    Profit: 21,5g

    253x [Shadow Crystal]
    Perfect: 59
    Normal: 194
% that did become perfect: 23,32%
    Price of gems: 126,5g
Gold when sell all gems to vendor: 156g
    Profit: 29,5g

    Stats on all gems together:

    Total Gems: 689
    Total Perfect: 149
    Total Normal: 542
Total % that did become perfect: 21,62%
Total price of all gems: 344,5g
Total gold when sell all gems to vendor: 420g
    Total profit: 75,5g

So, i would say that the chance to get a perfect gem is 20% - 21%.

Or read at my post in this thread: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...ml#post1697766

Thanks guys glad i could help. Well, normally they are around 30-50s. Sometimes I see people undercutting eachother from 10g a stack of 20 (50s a piece) to 4g a stack of 20 (20s a piece) and I just buy them all.
Ask in trade, people will lower their prices alot more and COD many.

YOU NEED 350 JC for this btw.

P.s. this works for any gem (green quality) that you buy for 50s or less. You can even do it with 50s10c :P

From a (small) sample of 20 uncommon cuts made immediately after finishing the Gem Perfection quest, 11 turned out Perfect, so approximately a 50% proc rate. That seems improbably good for this...

Hmmm, maybe its 20-50%? Anyways, its still a big profit, but when you do it alot. It will get boring though...
