Introduction:

Hello and welcome to my gold guide! im going to show you some of my favorite ways to make gold in World of Warcraft. I will try to keep the guide updated as often as i can.
Just so you know i will be covering as much as i can, i will show you everything i know about making gold.

The Auction House:

The auction house is a very big and important factor to making gold in world of warcraft, the auction house is very similar to real life market places such as ebay ect.. Using the action house can bring in thousands and thousands of gold everyday you just need to know when to sell and how to use it to your advantage.
If you are going to be using the Action House to make gold, which i highly recommend, you should download and install auctioneer which can be found here.

If you are going to be using auctioneer i advise you to scan the auction house twice daily for 2 weeks, then scan once a day after this, this will ensure that you are up date with all current prices on the auction house, just remember the more you scan the accurate your database will be.
Auctioneer has alot of interesting features but the most important and the one we will using the most is the feature, under the search feature is something known as resale, resale is a very useful and using it correctly will roll in thousands of gold, when searching with resale, you want to set how much profit you want to make, i usually set it to 10g but if your a low level setting it to 5g or even 1g will help you bring in some gold.

Now that you have auctioneer set up you want to make yourself a bank alt, a bank alt is a very very useful thing to have when using the auction house to make gold. All you need to do is create a level 1 and run him to your nearest city, if you are horde i advise you to make a orc and run to orgrimmar and if your alliance make a human and run to stormwind. Now your probably thinking why do i need a bank alt what use is he? Well the answer is simple, he saves you alot of time. Instead of running your your main backwards and forwards to the nearest action house all the time all you need to do is sent it to your bank alt through the in game mail. Send your bank alt some gold and post all auctions with him then when you need gold send it over to your main.

Now when using the auction house to buy low and sell high, you need to know what to buy because not everything will sell just because people have them listed doesn't mean to say that anyone is going to buy them so beware, underneath I've added some things what are very useful to buy low and sell high.

These are a few of many things to help you get started if you see any of the above items under priced buy them because they are very useful and are needed for alot of things and the chances are that 95% of the time they will sell, But the most important thing to do when selling is know when to sell, what you need to do is monitor the auction house and work out when items are selling at there most and then list the items but never post to many of the items at once you don't want to flood the action just post a few at a time if they sell post a few more of that item.

Now another way to make gold through the auction house and a way to dominate it, this is my favorite way of making gold and if done correctly you can make thousands and thousands of gold every day, What you will be doing is known as a monopoly, This requires quite alot of thought and quite alot of gold to be done correctly, what you are going to do is search for an item on the auction house buy all the items and re list them higher than there normal value, for example... You search for frozen orbs there is 10 on the auction house which vary in price from 30g-50g what you will do is buy all of them so that there is none left on the auction house, now you are going to re list all of them at a higher price so lets say we list them at 80g each which means you will be making at least 30g-50g profit on each, check the auction house as often as possible and if anyone has undercut you buy them out and re list them at 80g, that way is people needs frozen orbs then they have no choice but to pay 80g unless they want to farm them but the chances are they will buy them. Players do not like this and I've had a few whispers from people not to pleased lol but its not against the rules so why not. Again the items which bring in the most success with this are the ones listed above.

Professions

Professions are another very important aspect to making gold in world of warcraft, trying to make gold without them is very very hard, Every single profession can make gold, some better than others and sometimes some together work very well.

Mining

Mining is 1 of the 3 gathering professions and a very useful one, It i probably the biggest gold making of the 3 gathering professions as it is used for Engineering, Blacksmithing and Jewlcrafting.
Mining works very well with all 3 of its crafting professions but from my experiences it has brought in the most profit with jewlcrafting, but can work equally well Blacksmithing and Engineering.
No doubt about it at level 80 with 450 mining the best place you can farm is sholozar basin, even on highly populated servers you can still make alot of gold in a short time farming there. I farmed for 1 hour there and this is what i had after.

13 Stacks Of Saronite Ore
1 Stack of Titanium Ore
12 Eternal Earths
7 Eternal Shadows
3 Green Gems
1 Blue Gem

On my server that is worth around 300-400g which is not bad for 1 hours work.

Lately on my server saronite ore has went right down in price some days it is as low as 8g per stack which is terrible, and most of the time there isn't even any saronite bars on. So if this is happening to you and you don't have another profession to make use of the ore don't panic because if you smelt your saronite ore to saronite bars they sell for 25g to the vendor.

Herbalism

Herbalism is another 1 of the 3 gathering professions and also a very useful one and can also bring in alot of gold quite quickly, Herbs are used for both alchemy and inscription and can work very well with both. I find it works alot better with alchemy but that could just be my server.
Sholozar basin is with out a doubt the best place to farm herbs, even on a high populated server you can still gather alot of herbs in a quick time and sell for instant profit or you can use the herbs for alchemy or inscription. Now after farming for one hour in sholzar this is what i had.

This is also around 300-400g on my server.

Skinning

Skinning is another 1 of the 3 gathering professions and imo the least useful, this is simply because there is only one professions that has any use for leather which is leatherworking. It can still bring in alot of gold but skinning doesn't work quite aswell on its own as mining and herbalism so i advise if you skinning to level leatherworking as well

Alchemy

Alchemy is a very useful profession and always should be paired with herbalism to bring in a high profit, alchemy is one of the most important professions for raiding guilds and you will bring in the biggest income on a raid night on your server, below are the flasks what seem to bring in the most profit on my server.

Flask of Endless Rage
Flask of Pure Mojo
Flask of Stoneblood
Flask of the Frost Wyrm
When paired with herbalism the only thing you can do is make profit you have nothing to loose you just need to sell the right flasks at the right time.

Blacksmithing

Blacksmithing is quite a decent crafting professions especially when paired with mining you can bring quite alot of gold through the crafted items you make, it also works very well with enchanting. The best way to make gold is to craft the titansteel items from as cheap as possible

Ulduar items are also a very good to make but can be risky

Enchanting

Enchanting is proberly the best money making profession there is but it is very very expensive to max out. Enchanting works great with all crafting proffesions make items disenchant them sell the mats.
Below are the items which are the most useful and will sell best
Infinite Dust
Greater Cosmic Essence
Dream Shard
Abyss Crystal
If you do not pair with a crafting profession buy level 77+ items on the auction house cheap disenchant them and sell the mats. Also you can make gold by charging people for enchants but this is very time consuming.

Engineering

Not the best money making proffesion as there isnt alot of things to craft and sell for profit but does have some cool crafted items you can use for yourself.

Armor Plated Combat Shotgun
The guns can bring in alot of gold and are quite cheap to make depending on your server but they are the only really proit income apart from the chopper/hog which is very expensive to make.
Inscription
Inscription is quite a strange proffesion and depends on luck, you best way to make gold is by darkmoon cards and glyphs, but like i say you need to be quite lucky because the oly darkmoon card that will bring profit in is the nobles cards
A nobles deck will sell for quite alot of gold usually around 6-10k but is very risky, im not really going to go into to glyphs to much becasue there is so many of them and basically you need to rely on people respecing to be able to sell.

Jewlcrafting

Jewlcrafting is a very great profession and can bring in thousands of gold if used right, depending what profession you are paired with but the basic idea is the prospect ore cut gems and sell on the auction house. Red gems usually always sell best so the more scarlet rubys you get the better. Runed scarlet rubys seem to sell the best on my server.
Green rings are also very good to craft and disenchant.

Leatherworking

Leatherworking is an awesome proffesion when it is paired with skinning you can make some very nice crafted items and sell for amazing profit. Here are a few of the best selling items below.
Ice striker's Cloak
All Leg armors
Mammoth Mining Bag
Ice strikers cloak can be crafted for as little as 100g and sold for over 400g so i would advise to craft a few of them. All ulduar items will make quite abit of profit but cost alot to make.

Tailoring

Tailoring is a very good money making profession and doesnt require a gathering proffesion but will require alot of cloth farming to maxamize your profit. Best way to make money will be to craft items and sell them on the auction house.

Ebonweave/moonshroud/spellweave gloves
Spellthreads
Glacial Bag
Frostweave bag

Selling frostweave bags will be your main money maker as they are cheap to craft and sell for nice profit, you can also craft greens and disenchant however drop rate isnt so good but can still bring in a decent amount of profit.

Now below are imo the best money making professions paired together and under them ive wrote the best way to make hold from them.

Jewlcrafting/Enchanting

By far the best money making proffesion there is, if used correctly that is.
Buy Saronite Ore
Prospect
Cut gems and sell
Buy eternal earths
Craft rings and amulets from crystallized earth and green gems, disenchant and sell mats

Jewlcrafting/Mining

Very good way to make gold and can bring in a very nice profit
Farm Ore
Prospect
Cut gems and sell

Herbalism/Alchemy

Farm herbs
Craft Flasks and Pots and sell

From what ive seen they 3 combos are the best money making professions, I will be updating and adding alot more detail when 3.2 becomes live and i ahve a chance to test things out, this guide is not complete and will update as often as possible feel free to leave you feedback and suggestions.

Just alittle about me, ive been playing wow since the open beta and i love the game i have 6 level 80 characters spread out on 4 different servers 3 are alliance and 3 are horde, my main is a Undead Mage which has the proffesion Jewlcrafting & Enchanting also on the same server is my 80 druid which is an alt character he has the professions Tailoring and Mining and my druid is the character i farm on he farms all the ore for my mage so that i have no need to buy saronite ore from the auction house.

Anyways this guide is not finished yet and i will keep it updated as often as i can
