Get rid of underground miners

Hi everyone,

this afternoon I was happily mining when I started facing these goddamn underground miners in Icecrown and Wintergrasp. I know GMs don't give a shit about botters and it's useless to report them so I decided to do this:

I went to a level 1 alt and whispered the cheaters.

"I've recorded you mining under the ground of Icecrown, using hacks. This will be a 1 and only warning. If by the end of today 15/08/2009 I don't have 750g in my mail, I'll send the footage to Blizzard and you will lose your account."

"Once I see the money in my mail the footage will be removed from my computer and you will never see me again, make the right choice. I'll log back on in 1 hour."

"Disconnect."

Don't let them answer you, just log off and wait 1 hour for the gold to arrive.

After 1 hour I had a mail full of gold (750gx3 = 2250g), 3 of the 5 people I whispered sent the gold.

This is a winwin situation since you get a shitload of gold by doing nothing and also destroy the competition on mining nodes.

Try this and tell me how it worked on your server, hope this helps you get richer.

Use v and ctrl+v to show the name plates of both horde and alliance above their heads so you see them when they are mining, helps spotting them.

Hmm... Would definitely like to try this, but I've not actually seen any of the underground miners. Are they fairly obvious and is this worth trawling Wintergrasp/Icecrown for, or just something to do if you happen to be mining there yourself? +rep btw

Well for me it was well worth the 2 hours I spent doing this, got 2250g and destroyed the competition of titanium ore.

How do you find them? I've never actually seen one, do I just camp titanium or saronite?

I found them by mining around for 30 minutes, I guess you could just camp a titanium ore node. Maybe mine it, and wait there without looting it so whoever mines it will get "blablbal this node is being used by someone else".

I've not seen one before either, don't know if they're noticeable. I guess just find a titanium, camp nearby and turn overhead name-bars on for allies and enemies.

you can just do a /who wintergrasp, icecrown, storm peaks, sholazar basin, they are everywhere, lvl55-70 chars, i will definetly try this thanks for the tip xD

For them to report you theyd have to admit to flying underground to mine, which is illegal as well.
