Auctioneer Scan Data Sharing

The best way to make a lot of gold in World of Warcraft is on the Auction House. And the best addon to help you out is Auctioneer. Using Auctioneer with a good, stable Scan Data can give you thousands of gold every day.

However, one of the biggest mistakes one can make on the AH is trusting a freshly installed Auctioneer with too little Scan Data, making you buy overpriced items.

In this thread we share our Auctioneer Scan Data so that others can start using Aucioneer right away without spending weeks scanning the AH to build a good database.

Note that I have not found a recent Auctioneer Scan Data merger, so using the Scan Data files will overwrite your current one and erase your old Scan Data.




This requires the Auctioneer addon:

I recommend getting the complete Auctioneer Suite.


This is where you find your Scan Data:
World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\YOUR ACCOUNT\SavedVariables\Auc-ScanData.lua

Auc-ScanData.lua Contains all your Auctioneer Scan Data.

All the Auc-Stat- files contain your history data.



To share your Auctioneer Scan Data:

1. Find your Auc-ScanData.lua and all the Auc-Stat- files in the World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\YOUR ACCOUNT\SavedVariables\ directory

2. Compress them to a .rar or .zip file and upload it to MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

3. Post it in this thread or in a PM to me. Also post how long it has been updated, how often and when the latest update was. I will add it to this first post.



To use Auctioneer Scan Data that has been posted in the thread:

1. Install Auctioneer Addon and run the game once if you have not already.

2. Download the posted file.

3. Go to the World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\YOUR ACCOUNT\SavedVariables\ directory

4. Copy the Auc-ScanData.lua and Auc-Stat- files to the directory.

As good an idea as this is, certain items will be INCREDIBLY server dependent, making this thread more of a killer than helper.

If you were able to select items with prices that seem to bypass server dependencies and post them here, then people would know what to look for and that, mate, would be plenty of reason for me to +rep you.

ßetray, the prices in the database are sorted by server. There is currently no program that merges several data files to one. There was one in 2006, but it could be made. I might check up on that next weekend.

As I said in the post, so far the files are only for the specified servers.

Clarifications: I can scan the AH on all realms and it would still remember the price of an item on a specific server.

If you download my Magtheridon Data and log on to Stormscale it will not find the data.

Bad idea, just devote a week or two to scan you're own server. Every good item is server dependent.

This will be very server dependent. Probably better of scanning yourself for a week.

Of course it is server dependent. As I explained the data in the files are sorted by server, you won't have any use of my posted file if you do not play on magtheridon. Not only is the scan data not correct for another server, the addon will not load it for another server.

Then, 2 weeks of scanning is _NOT ENOUGH_, might be sufficient for a little goldmaking, but two weeks are what? 14k gold?

Just post your data and you will save at least a few weeks for every person who wants to start auctioneering.

dunno when you guys visited the auctioneer site last, but you should check out AuctioneerDb - Norganna's AddOns as well as AuctioneerDb , should save you a lot of work and fixes the server dependency problem

Oh yeah. Checked out auctioneerdb, and it seems they have added the import function. Will check that out. Makes the thread kind of pointless if it works. Will change it to a guid in that case.

Update: Downloading uploaded data is still under construction.
