Hello fellow MMOwned users. This guide is going to be on how to obtain the Insane in the Membrane Feat of Strength. Obtaining this achievement awards you with the title "The Insane," and with good reason. You need to be exalted with 7 difficult factions to raise reputation with, and honored with yet another difficult faction.
And yes, I know that there have been other guides like this, this is meant to be a detailed guide, and none of the ones I saw on this site were as detailed as this one.
Please note that this is my first guide, and any feedback is welcome. This guide is meant for a level 80 with raiding gear. This will most likely be updated several times, as I'm bound to come across more tips, and discover new information. Another note is that you are going to need a lot of gold.
Please at least look through the whole guide without starting this, because you'll be doing a lot of things at once, and you'll wish you would have known some of the information if you don't read it. This guide is also incomplete, I can't really write up everything you need to know at once like I said, but it's a start for a general guide.
Keep all the runecloth you find!
The 7 factions you need to be exalted with are Everlook, Ratchet, Gadgetzan, Booty Bay, The Shen'dralar, Ravenholdt, and The Darkmoon Faire. You also need to be Honored with the Bloodsail Buccaneers.
Now, we're not going to be doing this all at once. You can get burned out very easily trying to do that. If you have a friend who wants to get The Insane, or at least grind some mobs with you, that will help immensely. You may not get all of the items as quickly as you would solo due to drops, but it's much easier grinding when you're talking and making jokes with your friend the whole time.

Goblin Rep
Darkmoon Faire
Avast, Ye Admiral!
We're gonna start things off with the Bloodsail Buccaneers. I suggest if you want Loremaster, you get all of the goblin quests, and anything that gives Booty Bay rep out of the way first, because once you start grinding Bloodsail rep, there's really no going back without trashing your rep. First, go into any major city. Ask if anyone wants to grind Bloodsail Admiral rep for the achievement and title. Most of the time, you'll get a person or two who wants to.
If you can't find anyone in trade chat, ask your guild mates and friends. Again, this is possible solo, but it's less work and more fun with someone else. At any rate, head to Booty Bay and start wailing on the guards. They give 25 rep for the Bloodsail Admirals, and take 125 rep away from Booty Bay when killed. If you have a good group, you can do this in a couple of hours.
If you're interested in not angering people, try to stick to killing the guards and not quest givers. It may be a bit slower, but it can be disheartening for a low level to have to wait for his quest giver to respawn and hope he can turn in his or her quest before you tag the quest giver again.
There's not really much more I can say other than take it slow. Don't pull more than you can handle. It's easier for a DK or a prot paladin to pull 20 mobs at once, but it may not be as easy for a warlock, or a priest or any other cloth wearer. They're level 77, so if you're below level 80, don't pull more than a few at a time.
The guards also do a knock back with their guns, and it can very easily kill you. If you start getting spammed by their guns, throw any instant heals/shields you have, or pop a bubble in the case of a paladin and head for the water. You'll get pushed far away, but you won't die. I know I died because I had 10 bruisers locking me down into a wall.
At friendly, you can get a quest from "Pretty Boy" Duncan. He tells you to go see Fleet Master Firallon, who is located south of Booty Bay in one of the three ships. He gives you a quest to kill Baron Revilgaz, and Fleet Master Seahorn, which are located upstairs/outside of the inn, near the horde flight path. Together, doing these quests gives 525 rep for Bloodsail Buccaneers.
Completing that quest will give you Bloodsail Admiral's Hat, and give you a cool title. You're still not done with bruisers though. Keep on trucking, killing more of them until you reach Honored. Please note that if for some reason you wish to gain exalted with Bloodsail Admirals, you must not do that quest until you're into at 20,999/21,000 rep revered.
Ravenholdt
Onto Ravenholdt. First unless you have a 60+ rogue alt, what you want to do is go into a major city, and say "WTB Heavy Junkboxes, COD them to me <your price here>, pst me for more information" You're going to need a ton of them, and you want them flowing in as soon as possible.
Head to Hillsbrad. Go to Durnholde Keep, and start AoEing mobs down. They respawn insanely fast. On my priest, I was able to Holy Nova the bottom section, go up to the middle section, go up the hill, and by the time I got down to the bottom again, they all respawned. You need to get to 11,999/12,000 honored, and you want to kill as many mobs as you can to get there.
After you get to 11,999/12,000, mobs stop giving reputation. After that, there's a repeatable quest you have to do. It gives 75 rep per 5 boxes you get. You need 1405 boxes total. Have fun.
Shen'dralar
Start looking for Librams of Focus and Protection on the auction house. I personally went with Protection, because I wanted to farm for Baron Stratholme's mount. For that libram, you need Abomination Stichings, and a lot of them. You need 84 libram turn ins in total.
The individual materials you need for each turn in are:
Libram of Protection x1, Abomination Stiching x1, Large Brilliant Shard x2, Pristine Black Diamond x1.
Libram of Focus x1, Skin of Shadow x2, Pristine Black Diamond x1, Large Brilliant Shard x2.
Libram of Rapidity x1, Blood of Heroes x2, Large Brilliant Shard x2, Pristine Black Diamond x1.
Protection and Focus are by far easier to farm. Abomination Stichings drop off of the abominations in Stratholme, in the area before Rammstein and Baron. Rammstein is a guaranteed drop, while the other abominations have a low drop chance. I've gotten one stiching in a run, and I've gotten 7 in a run.
Skin of Shadow drops off of Risen Constructs, Risen Bonewarders, The Ravenian, Instructor Malecia, Lady Illucia Barov, and Lorekepper Polkelt.
Pristine Black Diamonds are usually pretty cheap on my server. Going for about 2-5 gold. Scan for them as well on the auction house whenever you can. Prices have inflated a lot since this FoS came out, so it might put a hurting on your wallet. It's worth it though.
Another part about this is that the librams are unique, so you can only have one on you at once. I suggest getting an engineer friend to come alone with you. Mail all librams to an alt, and then mail them back to you. Leave them in the mail, and have an engineer drop a mailbox for you.
You can use the Arcanums you get from this quest to turn in for Zandalar Tribe reputation if you so wish, so hang onto those if you'd like.
Goblin Rep
Time to regain some Goblin rep. We can do this a few ways. One way is doing Dire Maul North. You know all that runecloth that you found that I told you to keep? Yeah, now we're putting it to use. First though, you need to find a Gordok Shackle Key. You're going to have to find a lot of these. They drop off of the Guards, Gordok Bushwacker, Captain Kromcrush, and misc other ogers. This key is unique, so you can only get one per run.
For the second quest, you'll need a tailor who can mass create Bolt of Runecloth. For this quest, you'll need
Bolt of Runecloth x2, Rugged Leather x4, Ogre Tannin x1, and Rune Thread x1 per turn in.
Delete the suit after you get it. Yes, delete it. You'll be getting plenty more, and you can only have one on you at once. Do this quest *first*, do it as many times as you can per run, then turn in the other key quest. Turning in the key quest makes him run away. Sometimes you get unlucky and don't get any keys at all. Nothing you can do but run outside and reset and hope you find one.
The reason we want to do this is because librams and Pristine Black Diamonds drop, and we need those for Shen'dralar rep.
You can also go to Tanaris and grind pirates. Depending on your drop rate luck and AoE abilities, that can be faster than doing key quests. Rep here stops at 11,999/12,000, so you can't do it all that way, but if you prefer killing pirates, there is alternatives to DM for part of the grind.
Darkmoon Faire
Ahh, here we are. The hardest (in my opinion) faction to grind out. It's *really* expensive. I know someone who spent over 20k gold on it. You can offset this if you're an Inscriptioneer and making your own cards. You can buy a nobles deck for 6k, and turn around and sell the trinket for 6k, because they're BoE now. You can also only turn these in for one week a month, so if you miss out on one week, you have another month to get more cards.
Epic decks give 250 rep, rogue decks/lower level decks only give 25.
You can do repeatable quests to get to 2000/6000 friendly, but after that, it's only decks you can turn in. You can talk to Sayge and get your fortune as well, and if you get lucky and get a quest, you can do that and turn it in for 75 rep.
Which repeatable quest you want to do depends on your professions. Most, if not all of the items are BoE so you can buy them if you wish. The quests require these items and give 250 rep up until 2000/6000:
Rugged Armor Kit x8
Big Black Mace x1
Embossed Leather Boots x3
Toughened Leather Armor x3
Coarse Weightstone x10
Copper Modulator x5
Turtle Scale Leggings x1
Evil Bat Eye x10
Glowing Scorpid Blood x10
Green Fireworks x36
Whiring Bronze Gizmo x7
Torn Bear Pelt x5
Vibrant Plume x5
Thorium Widget x6
Barbaric Harness x3
Small Furry Paw x5
Soft Bushy Tail x5
Dense Grinding Stone x8
Mechanical Repair Kit x6
Heavy Grinding Stone x7
Green Iron Bracers x3
As you can see, you have many options, so I would go with what your profession can craft. The lower level item quests disappear after a determined amount of rep for each quest. Your best bet is probably Evil Bat Eyes, or Glowing Scorpid Blood.
Once you reach 2000/6000, bring out the decks and start turning them in. Yes, this is extremely expensive, yes, it can take a long time. That's the price you pay for being Insane.
Well, I hope you liked my guide. Any feedback or criticism is welcomed. I can try to get screenshots up of some of the areas where you should farm, farming paths for mobs, etc are when I get a new time card.
