I don't know how many times I've used CD's when I wouldn't need to because my partner(s) are tunnel-visioned in Arena and don't tell me when they use their CD's. I thought most of this was common sense, but I've had this happen so many times I couldn't help but post. I will be structuring this macro session around a deep Holy Paladin(53/18/0), but the general concept should be useable for any class.
What needs to be macro'd for vocalization is anything that has a DR, mitigates damage, or provides immunities (bubble, iceblock, etc.).
For example:
#showtooltip Hammer of Justice
/stopcasting
/cast [harm] Hammer of Justice [target=targettarget, harm] Hammer of Justice
/p *STUNNING* %t!
This macro will HoJ your target first, or your target's target if it is harmful. Also announces to your party who you are stunning. This is essential for me because the button I have to press to stun doesn't allow me to press my Vent key simultaneously.
#showtooltip Divine Shield
/castsequence Divine Shield, Divine Sacrifice
/p *BUBBLE USED* DSac up, 40% mitigation for the next 10 seconds!
Good for your partner to know so he/she won't use any of their 'oh shit' abilities unless extremely necessary. Another macro to combine with this is:
#showtooltip Hand of Sacrifice
/cast Hand of Sacrifice
/p HoSac on %t! 30% mitigation for 12 seconds!
Not only is this an amazing combo with 70% mitigation on a target, but your partner will feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing about it. I was also going to include my Hand of Salvation macro, but it's mostly useless besides showing your partner(s) how much damage you can eliminate.
Next, I was absolutely boggled when I found out more than 1 person didn't know that you couldn't melee with Hand of Protection on them. (LOLDK)
#showtooltip Hand of Protection
/cast Hand of Protection
/p HoProt on %t! Cancelaura when topped off!
As a nice synergy with any melee class that has a Paladin as a healer, the melee class should have a /cancelaura Hand of Protection macro for limited downtime.
Finally, a macro that has saved my butt more times than I could imagine. With NECB (or any CD timer really), you can time the most pro 'Eat a spell lock and fear the felpup' move ever.
#showtooltip Turn Evil
/cast Aura Mastery
/cast Turn Evil
/p Aura Mastery used, %t is peeled off of me for 10 seconds.
Before I get any 'well use the Turn Evil glyph scrub' posts, while pre-3.1 it was possible to squeeze in that glyph, post-3.1 there are far better glyphs for PvP(FoL, Salv, HS). Also, Locks WILL spell lock Turn Evil, it's in the Holy tree.
Hopefully this helps at least a few people improve their PvP'ing, I know it really helped the synergy between me and my 2's partner a ton. Will update if I / you can think of anything worth adding.
