Greater Nether/Eternal/Planar/Cosmic essences sell for quite a lot compared to their respective dusts.

What you do:

Search Auction house for Uncommons between levels:
36-41 (Higher chance of nether essence)
46-51 (Higher chance of eternal essence)
61-69 (Planar essence)
71+ (Cosmic Essence)

Now the prices may be different for your server but what I do is buy:
All under 4G for item levels 36-41 and 46-51
All under 5g for item levels 61-69
and All under 7G for item levels 71+

I personally use auctioneer for faster page refreshes, and the option for quick buy. (Shift+Rightclick auto-buys item without confirmation box if you have it enabled, so you just rol through the items quickly.)

This only takes like 5-10 minutes of your time per day and is real simple to do.

There is also the Auctioneer Searcher module. Use EnchantMats and set the item levels you want and your enchanting skill level range desired, and minimum profit, etc. Then just search. It'll tell you how much you'll make, you can sort by profit, etc.
