    Guide: Wintersaber rep grinding

A lot of people like the oldskool shizzle, this mount being one of them... The problem is that the repgrind is pretty long (not if you compare it with how it sued to be, but still...) and boring, and a lot of people don't like losing time (meaning: spending time in the game without actually gaining items or gold).
I will explain you how you can make a fair amount of gold (not a lot though, just a nice extra)+ get your rep...

    FAQ

Rivern Frostwind: Rivern Frostwind - NPC - World of Warcraft
Wintersaber Trainers: Wintersaber Trainers - Faction - World of Warcraft

    A # Yes I am...

    The map and routes

Rivern Frostwind is the only one that hands out the wintersaber repquests. He has 3 of them.
You get one quest at neutral (just speak to him) and 2 more will unlock later on.

    1. Frostsaber Provisions

Collect 5 Shardtooth Meats and 5 Chillwind Meats for Rivern Frostwind in Winterspring.

    Shardtooth Meat (5)
    Chillwind Meat (5)

    Description

If you wish to prove yourself, you may begin by doing a very simple, but very important task.

Gather meat from the chimaera and from the shardtooth bears in the area. Bring it to me so that I may use it to feed the frostsabers that are being trained.
    Progress

Discipline and determination are your goals. I may ask you to do a simple task many times; you must perform to the best of your ability each time.
    Completion

Thank you for assisting me, <name>. My opinion of you grows as time passes.
    Gains

Upon completion of this quest you will gain:

    2. Winterfall Intrusion

Rivern Frostwind wants you to slay 5 Winterfall Shaman and 5 Winterfall Ursa. Winterfall Shaman slain (5)Winterfall Ursa slain (5) Description

My presence goes unnoticed by most, <name>. However, there is an annoyance that seems firmly rooted here in Winterspring: the Winterfall furbolg.

Although I have never directly attacked the furbolg, they seem crazed, fearful of anything in their path. I have watched them slay countless creatures that had the misfortune to simply be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I am weary of their meddling -- please, help me by fighting back. Slay the furbolg and keep them away from Frostsaber Rock.
    Completion

I am relieved to hear that for a short moment, we will not have to worry about the Winterfall intrusion.

You are beginning to show your perseverance, <name>.

    Gains

Upon completion of this quest you will gain:

    3. Rampaging Giants

Rivern Frostwind wants you to kill 4 Frostmaul Giants and 4 Frostmaul Preservers. Frostmaul Giant slain (4)Frostmaul Preserver slain (4) Description

Around 4,000 years ago, Tyrande Whisperwind saved the life of the frostsaber queen, at the hands of rampaging giants. Since then, the frostsabers have been allies of the night elves.

These same giants that once were a danger to the frostsabers, still exist not too far from here. They are called the frostmaul, and they have taken over the large valley to the south.

Prove your loyalty to the frostsabers; kill these giants in the name of the frostsaber queen, Shy-Rotam!
    Completion

Excellent, <name>. Your determination has been duly noted.
    Gains

Upon completion of this quest you will gain:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Below, you can find a map on the how and whereabout of the quest(mobs).

You start off in the north at the dodgy drawed exclamation mark, and then you go to the east. The point where i left the road to go east is the point where most of the bears and chimaeras bunch up, so you can get some easy meats of them.
if you are all alone here (no corpses of animals around) grind 5/5 of all meats, if you are not just take the leftovers.

Continue your way to the east, and get to winterfall village. Kill 5 shamans and 5 Ursas, remember to kill every den watcher you see too, as these will respawn as shaman or ursa sooner or later.

Continue to the south, and kill the giants. Remember that there are 2 points where you can find these (good to know when more people are farming them): you can find them in the ravine, but you can also find them when you cross the bridge that goes over the ravine. Both places have giants and preservers.

If you were alone for the meat, continue on the red route that I drawed, if you still need meat follow the blue route.

    hand in, rince and repeat.

Some people will tell you that its easier to do only 2 out of 3 quests, they tell you to skip farming the meat for provisions (too low drop, not able to hold more then 5 meats of each) or the giants (too far away) but trust me, doing them all will give you the most profit. Wich brings us to our last point

    Making a bit of cash

There are a few things worth some money here, depends a bit from your professions etc

    1. when you are a miner: the green dots on the map are thorium ore. lately these sell for 30G-90G/stack depending from server to server. Also the gems you get out of these (especially the large opals) are very pricy on AH.

    2. when you are a skinner: keep skinning all the beasts for the provisions quests. people go crazy over them rugged leathers, and they sell for quite some money!

    3. Winterfall firewater, dropped from the furbolgs, can sell from a bout 5-10G/each on AH. People are still happy to get those for showing off, they dont have any real use besides that anymore.

    4. When you are killing the beasts, pick up all wicked claws and bear flanks. Especially the last ones fill up a gap in the cooking lvling and they can sell for quite some money. I sell them 50G for 5 of them on my server.

    Last words

Well, this is some old shit. I just grinded the saber on my DK, and I was happy to see that I could get some quick and easy cash while doing it.
I hope I helped a few people by writing this small "guide" down, and I hope you enjoy your mount!

This is how I did this....

It took me one week farming around 4-5 hours a day (boring but good with music and maybe a partner).
Me and my partner took turns I would follow them for around 2-3 runs then they would follow me.

Also I found it quicker to ditch the first quest (frostsaber provisions) you get when you are honored as it just wastes heaps of time and is a big pain in the ass.

The rotation I did was run down and do Rampaging Giants which took around 3 mins to run there then another 4 mins to kill them, then I ran to Winterfall Village which took 3 mins then did Winterfall Intrusion which can depend on spawn times ( and if there are other bastards doing the same quest or farming rep for Timbermaw Hold) but that took around 5 mins.

So all up each run took around 15-18 mins and you get 700 rep for those(together) so thats around 2800 rep an hour(at honored).

So at 2800 rep an hour thats (from honored) about 12 hours of constant grinding.

P.S keep at it trust me the mount is totally badass and you will get admirerers (<< not sure about spelling)

(One more thing is the mount is 80g when you are exalted)

    @Mages = ownage...

You could drop one of the quests, but I would not advice it to LW...
Now at 80 (suppose you did it earlier) you can kill these beasts pretty fast anyway so...

Your 700 rep for 2 quest theory is not correct though, the giant quests gives 350, the other 2 give 250.

If I do then all 3, I can do them 3-4 times an hour... Wich makes about 2550+rep/hour.
