I tried it out, got a chat suspension the next day. Funny thing is I confirmed everything with a GM BEFORE starting and he said everything is fine as long as I don't advertise more than once a minute and closer to every 5 minutes. I was advertising on a 4 minute timer.

The GM I talked to after getting suspension said, I quote " Its not a time issue. Its Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish."

    ....

What??? I basically told him that what he said doesn't make sense since anyone advertising for an item "excessively" communicates the same phrase. Anyway, he didn't know what else to say and was being a smart ass.

I was in a ****-you mood right after the conversation so I emailed blizzard about the suspension. I want some answers...if advertising every 4 minutes is considered spamming oooh boy half the server is gonna get reported. >:|

    Calculating Ideal Setups

For those using categorical payouts (i.e. 65-80=2x, 81-85=3x), if you're wondering how to set it up so it's in your favor, here is how you calculate it.

Let's assume you have the following casino setup:

    Rolling 1 or 100 = 4x payout, chance of 2/100
    Rolling 85-90 = 3x payout, chance of 6/100
    Rolling 65-80 = 2x payout, chance of 16/100

Now, if the player makes a 1g bet, he has the following outcomes:

    His chances of losing 1g = 76/100

    Chances of gaining 2g = 16/100

    Chances of gaining 3g = 6/100

    Chances of gaining 4g = 2/100

    So the player has an Expected Value of -1*76/100 +2*16/100 +3*6/100 +4*2/100 = -76/100 +32/100 +18/100 +8/100 = -18/100 = -.18

This means that the player may expect to lose about .18g for every 1g he bets, 1.8g for every 10g bet, 18g for every 100g bet, etc. A profit margin, for you, of +18%.

    Hope that helps!

Casinos would most likely fall under Title 9 (Code of Conduct) Section B (Rules of Chat) subsection 7:

    vii) Participate in any action that, in the sole and absolute opinion of Blizzard, results or may result in an authorized user of the Game being "scammed" or defrauded out of gold, weapons, armor, or any other items that user has earned through authorized game play in the Game;

Note the bolded section. You don't need the intent to scam, just the possibility for it to happen and since the rulesets are setup for the house to always win, thats evidence enough, plus the fact it's their game and they can pull"I can do whatever the hell I want" card at any moments notice. And when they do, you dont wanna be part of the log of casino reports they have collected. just a fair warning.

    Check my first post.

And technically they're not being scammed as long as there are rules and no tricks and its fair.

And how do you know for sure yourself that particular CM/GM isn't just another misinformed lowbie GM like 99% of them typically are. For every blue post saying its legal, there's a couple more that say its not. There's already been contradicting reports of people from the US using "fair" rulesets and still getting bans. Just like the guy above, one GM says its totally cool and a second later your getting handed a ban.

The general consensus with majority of people talking about it on the blizzard forums is that they hate casinos with a passion thanks to spammers so I wouldn't risk much longer with casinos. Expect another "Clarification" soon with them saying any form of it is not allowed.
