I used to do that all the time, and I still do it...
I've gotten reported tons of times and got the occasional GM's responding to me regarding it, will try to look if I got a screenshot somewhere, but my way to prevent the GM's banning me for it was to tell them I was roleplaying, seeins as that is the only place in Dalaran where I can wash my Mammoth (besides the dirty sewers) I have no choice but to stay there.
the GM's I've spoken to always tells me that it's okay then, but I should consider moving a bit to prevent being rude

You can't get banned, but my friend did this, and it came back to him later. A couple days later he was in a heroic, and it was me, him, and my priest friend.. The leader new him from this, and guess what happened? He got kicked at the last boss of the daily heroic by him and yelled ''As*h**e". I remember a item dropped for him to it was a feral staff. I never laughed so hard, unfortunately he was main tank so we wiped.. we needed to find a new tank which upset me -_-]

EDIT: Talking to him right now in-game he says he has screen shots of it and whispers from this person telling him about this, lmao I well try and get it from him .
