[Guide] Timely Death Achievement

Hey guys. I just thought I'd post a guide on how to get the 'Timely Death' Achievement without much difficulty.

For those who don't know what this achievement is, let me tell you

"Defeat Loken in the Halls of Lightning on Heroic difficulty in 2 minutes or less"

A couple of my guildies thought that you would need to be decked out in good gear and have the best group set up. They completley dismissed the idea that a Paladin could heal it (as they don't have HoTs). I aimed to prove them wrong

I set up a group with Me (Prot Warrior) a Holy Paladin, an Arcane Mage, a Rogue and a Death Knight (in green gear). This was a pretty nice set up but it is VERY possible with any group set up.

[THE TACTIC]

First of all forget any tactic about running from his Lightning Nova thing (read that on WoWwiki). All you want to do is have your group stack on top of the tank (excluding the healer) on the circular section of the floor in front of Loken.

Now the tank pulls with a ranged ability (Heroic Throw/Gun whatever). As SOON as the tank pulls the DPS doesn't wait for threat they just start NUKING. The tank then taunts the boss and starts building threat ASAP.

When he starts casting Lightning Nova everyone just keeps nuking Loken. The healer will be spam healing himslef and the group. (We had our paladin spam Holy Light on everyone with a beacon on himself.) Of course, any healers would do fine i.e. Chain Heal/tranquility...whatever.

Just after the first Lightning Nova he should be just about, if not, dead. If he isnt dead just keep this process up until he is.

This is by far the easiest way I've come across and I've tried a good few tactics. Anyway, i'll probably get bombarded with "Common Senze l0l0l0l0l" but..meh Enjoy people

one of the easiest achievement ever, i did it with a regular gear (most naxx 10) the only point was to have a sham ...

You don't need a sham and you don't need any sort of specific group set up, that's the point of this guide - you can do it with anyone, it just tells you how.

lol i was never able to down loken before this, now i got the achievement on my first kill

Also a good build for alot of hp is= Warrior for the commanding shout, paladin for kings and a priest for stam (or a lock). This way you'll be sure of downing him

paladins might have a hard time healing this since they dont have group heals

Best Setup for me was:
dr00d healer
warrior tank
priest shadow
dk blood
pal retri

we kicked his ass...i think we got him down after 1 min and 7 secs.. but nice guide indeed!

We used a paladin and he had no trouble...beaconed himself and healed everyone else with holy light. Even a n00b can do that

Better tactic... bring non-stupid people >.>

That's one of the easiest heroic achievements out there.
