    [Common Sense] Blacksmithing 440+ Gold

Well, it's my first time here, so I'll just try to contribute with a little guide.

Those of us who levelled Blacksmithing must remember how hard those final levels were to increase, due to insanely high mat costs.
Well, these days are long past, as I happened to discover, mat prices dropped drastically.
But, fortunately for us, some people still didn't learn of that.

    So, what do we do?

    We make the following items:

    Spiked Titansteel Helm & Treads.

Spiked Titansteel Helm - Item - World of Warcraft
Spiked Titansteel Treads - Item - World of Warcraft

    Tempered Titansteel Helm & Treads.

Tempered Titansteel Helm - Item - World of Warcraft
Tempered Titansteel Treads - Item - World of Warcraft

    Brilliant Titansteel Helm & Treads.

Brilliant Titansteel Helm - Item - World of Warcraft
Brilliant Titansteel Treads - Item - World of Warcraft

    In detail:

The helms cost 4 Titansteel Bars, 4 Saronite Bars and 1 Frozen Orb.
The treads cost 3 Titansteel Bars, 4 Saronite Bars and 1 Frozen Orb.

On my server, and 3 others I've checked before posting this, prices are as follows:

Titansteel Bar: 140g average (120g-160g range, mostly ~130g).
Saronite Bar: 4g average (2.5g-6g range, mostly 3.5g).
    Frozen Orb: 45g (28g-60g range, mostly ~38g).

Overall, a helm would cost 621g (And I'm being pessimistic, you can get it cheaper), and treads would cost 481g to make.

Now here's the fun part - on all servers I've checked, the helms go for upwards of 900g (1k-1.1k being the cast mostly), and treads for the same amounts.

    What do we do?
    1. Look for a potential buyer.
    2. Offer to sell the item for as "cheap" as 850g (Or 700g for boots), so much cheaper than AH that he'll "profit" just by reselling it.
    3. Once we have an agreement, buy mats, make the item, and sell!
    4. Profit! Around 250g ''fee'' per item.

Again, I know this is just use of our profession, but it works so wonderfully I felt like I had to share. I've made 2k gold by using this while half-afking for 2 hours.

    Good luck!

Really a nice guide but this all depends on your server economy and people buying such stuff.
Most people will check prices of mats before buying something for around 900 gold.

    It's still a new idea, so... +rep.
