Well one of my firends asked me to find some tanking gear for his DK.
SUrprisingly there was no such compilation.
So i decided to make my own

NOTE: Death Knights are NOT DW (Dual Wield) tanks, although single-handed weapons are more tank-oriented, Death Knights use Two Handers but since tanking two handers are rare, pretty much anything with Hit on it will do. Agility is an added bonus.

I'm going to rep you but I'm going to give you my suggestions.

Considering the limited amount of raid content at the end of WotLK, listing any gear acquired from a raid isn't exactly a huge benefit for the guide. As most people are trying to reach the defense cap of 540 as a DK (or any other plate class for that matter) the only thing that really has any relevance is pre-raiding gear which is acquired through professions and questing.

Raid gear I'll get as a tank when it drops. It's almost a given unless I already have that particular item or an item that already surpasses it, in which case, the off tank will get it.

My suggestions is to post compilations of gear that amount to 540 defense or greater and then list upgrades to that gear. Now I understand that there's a large number of combinations of gear that you can do, but you start off with a gear set that is easily acquired and then work your way up through availability.

I generally build a list based on the order in which I intend to get the items. I generally start with quest rewards I can get during the leveling process and follow up with quest rewards from level 80 quests. Then I implement profession gear and weigh that with cost and then place a value on other quest rewards I can get that are better upgrades. If the price of a crafted piece of gear is higher than the effort in which I will spend doing a long quest chain, I will do the chain. I then, finally, factor in dungeon gear.

Most of us have seen a distinct lack of variation in gear drops in WotLK. it's obvious and unlikely to change until Blizz handles other issues. Therefore, factoring the drop % on a particular item against crafted gear and other quest gear, I'll decide if I'm willing to run a dungeon.

Has been on my drop list for a significantly long time. Utgarde Pinnacle has been the heroic daily 5 times out of the last 6 days. I have done this dungeon every day for almost 3 weeks. This sword has yet to drop. Now in the event that I find something slightly comparable to this, I'll go for that instead.

Some stuff obviously isn't met for Death Knight (it is just a general guide), but most of it can work for any plate wearing tank class.
