Jewelcrafting Minning Gold Guide

This guide requires you to be a Jewelcrafter 375+. It also helps to be a miner but is not needed.

To start off i suggest downloading these addons:

Auctionator
Auctionator - Addons - Curse

Gatherer
Gatherer addon for World of Warcraft

Auctionator is better than auctioneer because it does not need to scan AH to find the best prices for your item you just add your item to the tab and it will show all the auctions for it and automatically price it. Best thing is underneath create auction there is a button that says create multiple auctions. so when you have 10+ of 1 item you can do them all same price in 1 click.

I hate saying crystallized shit so im going to say primals sometimes, primal = crystallized in this guide.

FARMING ORE
My favourite place is wintergrasp since you can do some pvp at the same time. This place is highly recommended if you need to farm some crystalized items, or if you dont have your 280% flying mount yet since only ground mounts can be used.

Icecrown and S.B are very good also, but watch out in Icecrown if you are not level 80 or bad gear some mobs can hit quite hard especially near the Mord'rethar.

Not a miner?
Buy the ore! Saves you lots of time but costs takes away from profits. Skip Cobalt Ore, only go for Saronite Ore.

Then prospect it all!

Lets say your unlucky!
100 ore gets you 25 green quality gems and 5 blue quality.

This is where your servers market will make your server different from others. Check to see what gems are selling best, what gems are not on the AH and what gems that their is a ton of (18 stam gems...:yuck

I suggest making a bank alt give him 4 16 slot bags and enable auctionater addon for him.

Put your gems on sale and watch the cash fly in.

Tips on best gems to cut
Blue
Check your ah to see if there is a lot of stam gems if so cut spirit gems, priests and some druids love em.
Purple
Most of you would think str + stam or agi + stam to fit meta sockets but infact most Jcs thought of it already and theres shit tons all over. Instead cut Spell Power Spirit. Great for caster classes needing the meta requirments and druids/priests love them more than SP mp5.
Red
You can make a variety of them all since their all good. i would stay away from armor pen/expertise since you will find these stats mostly on gear and other stats are better to gem for. Dodge/str/agi/spell power are all good.
Orange
This is the color i make most money off. My server sells 8 agi 8 hit gems for 350g each! I would stick with Spell power/str/agi + Hit/crit, other good gems would be Spell power haste, stay away from AP + stat since most classes will benefit more from str/agi than AP (ap may be good for pvp gear not sure though)
Yellow
Everything is good here, haste is probably the worst one and crit is best. Defense may become worse when more tanks are getting better gear and swapping sockets of def into stam
Green
I found int + spirit is very good seller and spirit hit sells very well.

Both these meta's are very easy to make only one Air/fire then 2 different uncommon quality gems. I would suggest checking your AH to see what meta's cost the most or which ones are not on there. This is why wintergrasp is my favourite place. Farm the fire and air area when its clean go around my route get a couple nodes and then go back and farm more primals. ALso no cooldown on making the meta anymore so find a friend in alchemy and watch the money flow in.

If your a miner using your smelt titansteel cooldown may be better than just selling your bars and crystallized stuff.

Thank you for this guide -- I generally invest into red/orange gems, raw-power stats are generally the most intelligent, and highest selling gem cuts. And I'll definitely try Wintersgrap for mining, Shalozar/Icecrown are incredibly competitive on my server <.<!
