PvP'ing as a Rogue
Is Pvping as a rogue fun? Yup, it sure is! Stealthing to the healers in AV and dominating them, Poisoning and DoTing the Main Tanks, and of course, ambushing all the clothies can be extremely fun. But, there's always problems. World PvP, or BG PVP are not always fair for a rogue. What I'm referring to is 1on1 battles with other PvP'ers. More than one horde/alliance may come DoT/Nuke you during your perfect stunlocking, two might come and just shred you and your low armor to bits. You do not have many toys for in-combat CC, well, unless you use your blind - which will save you for a few seconds. I will try and help out many rogues who have trouble in PvP make it slightly enjoyable, and easier. Remember, that any class can defeat another. It just requires a bit of patience and confidence to break down the opposer.
Here are some Tips:
- Don't panic.
If you are feared, and have a number of DoTs on you, trinket out, and CLoS > Vanish.
Panicking is probably the #1 reason why most players lose in pvp. I know I did. Concentrate on what is around you, what opponents are you up against, can you blind and re-stealth in this situation, are any useful cooldowns up, etc. You seriously DO NOT have time to think about all these things while you are getting dominated by another class. You must act extremely fast, and to do so, is practice. Practice your flag carrying in WSG, or taking down the opposing factions whilst saving the FC. Sap n' Cap in AB, and then stunlock your opponent away, Help your AV team take down the enemy by stealthing in, and stunlocking/nuke'ing down the healers. Repeating all these different things many times lets you master all your rogue abilities. You won't be hearing L2P anymore!
- Have the right amount of Regeants!
I ALWAYS carry atleast 6 Slots of 20x Flash Powder in my bag. It's very cheap, and is one of the most useful regeants a rogue can have. Have blind powder ready too. The material needed to create these are 'Fadeleaf'. I'm a herbalist. I farm these myself. On my server, they are quite expensive (15g for 20). I carry 4 Slots of x20 of these with me, using them at most stunlocking situations and in-combat CC.
- Have the right spec for the right situation!
It's hard to stunlock someone when you are combat sword/mace spec \ Assassination build. For pure stunlocking, go Hemo with a slow, heavy dmg MH and a fast off-hand for applying poisons. For Hemo, the slower the MH = The higher the DMG.
- Pot up if you need too!
Your armor isn't as durable as the Shamans, Hunters, Paladins and Warriors. They will cripple your leather apart, while you will be hitting them very softly. Buy HP Pots if you want too, I reccomend the one's spent from honor and EOTS Marks.
Rogue Add-Ons:
Addons make your PvP/PvE adventures much easier. Here are a few rogue add-ons that will help you in your pvp encounters.
1. CCWatch: It currently monitors most cc/debuffs/buffs of all classes in WoW.

2. PoisonMaster: PoisonMaster allows a rogue to easily buy all ingredients needed to make poisons.
Download Here: http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files...ntinued-again/
3. Titan - Rogue Flash Powder: This mod counts how many Flash Powder you are currently carrying (without having to look into your bags).
Download Here: http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files...-flash-powder/
- TITAN PANEL REQUIRED -
4. RogueHelper: This isn't VERY useful, but can be by many rogues. It's a small, drag-able box with your energy and combo points in numerical form.

Poisons in PvP
These are the rogue's babies. Every rogue should have them on every BG they enter, and even in some PvE situations. These should ALWAYS be carried with. The rogue can still win without them, but these help you ALOT.
Here are a few posions that I always carry with me. Wether I'm doing the 2v2 Arena, EOTS, AV/AB and/or WSG.
Crippling Posion: Crippling Poison - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
Carried usually in my Main-Hand.
Mind-numbing Poison: Mind-numbing Poison - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
Carried always in my off-hand when encountering Priests, Mages, Warlocks and other casters. Shivved on.
Deadly Poison Deadly Poison - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
I carry the highest rank with me, always a stack (x20) when I'm PvP'ing. Applied onto my Off-Hand and being repeatedly Shivv'd onto mainly the warrior class.
Warriors
How do you take down a warrior? Spam SS and CB-Eviscerating? Stunlocking whilst Spamming SS/Hemo? These MAY work, but the warrior's who do understand the role of there class are always smart enough to give rogues one heck of a hard time. I suggest kiting a warrior. That's right, Rogues, Kite.
Open with a cheap shot, and build combo points with shiv, whilst also applying Deadly Poison from your off-hand, a crippling poison should have been applied from your MH. Once you hit a few CB and CS has ended, KS (Kidney Shot). Vanish, and garrote. Within a 2 - 5 Second period, rupture the warrior with any of the combo points you have. CLoS, Evasion (Maybe) and Sprint off. If you get intercepted - Turn, Evasion and Gouge. Then continue your running. The Warrior is rapidly losing HP. Once the warrior is low enough, go in there, go nuts, go dps.
